RBPF Nassau: 2 armed robberies - 4 American visitors arrested - 2 arrested for firearm possession

POLICE SEARCHING FOR SUSPECTS IN TWO ARMED ROBBERIES

Nassau, Bahamas - Police  are searching for several suspects responsible for two of armed that occurred during the past 24-hours and are asking for members of the public to come forth with any information they may have to help solve these incidents.

In the first incident, shortly before 11:00pm on Sunday 24th May 2015, a woman and a man were sitting in their dark grey 2003 Acura vehicle license number 300411 in front of a home located at Little Hyde Park off Sea Breeze Lane, when a man armed with a handgun robbed them of a cell phone and sped off in their vehicle.

In the second incident, shortly after 1:00am on Monday 25th May 2015, a man was sitting in his grey black 2003 Altezza vehicle in front of a home located in Kennedy Subdivision, when two men armed with a handgun robbed him of his vehicle and sped off.

2 MEN IN CUSTODY FOR FIREARM POSSESSION

Two males ages 20 and 17 are in custody after they were arrested for possession of an unlicensed firearm on Sunday 24th May 2015.

According to reports, shortly after 12:00noon, officers from the Mobile Division acting on intelligence conducted a search of the two males on Gibbs Corner and found a handgun along with 14 live rounds of ammunition in their possession. The men were taken into custody for questioning. 

4 AMERICAN VISITORS ARRESTED FOR DANGEROUS DRUGS

Three adult males and an adult female from Florida were taken into custody for possession of dangerous drugs on Sunday 24th May 2015.

According to reports, shortly after 12:00noon, officers from the Tourism Policing Unit acting on intelligence went to a cruise ship moored at Prince George Wharf, where they found the four suspects in possession of a quantity of marijuana. The suspects were taken into custody and are expected to appear in court early this week to be formally charged.
