5 Bahamians and a Jamaican in custody following a major drug bust

Nassau, Bahamas - A combination of teamwork and excellent 'textbook' Police work has dealt a major blow to the drug traffickers in the Bahamas, after police arrested five Bahamian males along with a Jamaican male for possession of a large quantity of marijuana on Wednesday 15th July 2015.

According to reports, shortly after 12:30am, a team of Officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit assisted by officers from the Police Marine Support Unit acting on intelligence, intercepted a go-fast boat in waters off Kemps Bay, Andros, with the five suspects onboard. Drug Enforcement Unit officers conducted a search of the vessel and found a large quantity of marijuana. The five suspects were taken into custody for questioning.
