MOBILE DIVISION OFFICERS SEIZE ILLEGAL FIREARM, 2 MEN ARRESTED

Nassau, Bahamas - Two men ages 22 and 21 are in custody after police seized an illegal handgun on Friday 29th August 2014. According to reports, shortly after 10:00pm, Mobile Division officers acting on intelligence conducted a search of the two suspects at Dunmore Street and found a handgun along with a quantity of ammunition in their possession. The suspects were taken into custody and are expected to appear in court early next week to be formally charged.

POLICE SEEK PUBLIC ASSISTANCE IN SOLVING ARMED ROBBERY

Police are requesting the public’s assistance in solving an armed robbery that occurred on Friday 29th August 2014.  According to reports, around 10:00pm, police received a report of an armed robbery in progress at a business establishment located on Faith Avenue south. When police arrived on the scene they saw two armed men exiting the business establishment. The suspects on seeing the police fired several shots and fled on foot. Police returned fire but was unable to catch the suspects. Police are actively investigating this incident.

POLICE SEEK PUBLIC ASSISTANCE IN SHOOTING INCIDENT

Police are requesting the public’s assistance in solving a shooting incident occurred on Saturday 30th August 2014.

According to reports, shortly before 3:00am, a man was walking in the area of Cockburn and Market Streets, when he was shot to the back. The victim was transported to hospital via private, where he is detained in stable condition.Investigations are ongoing.

POLICE are appealing to anyone with information regarding any crime, no matter how small or insignificant (the tip) may seem, to anonymously call Police at 919 or CRIME STOPPERS at 328-TIPS (8477) (New Providence) or 1-242-300-8476 (Family Islands)
