POLICE FLYING SQUAD OFFICERS MAKE FIREARM AND DRUG SEIZURE, 1 MAN IN CUSTODY

According to reports, around 9:00pm on Tuesday 17th February 2015, officers from the Flying Squad acting on intelligence executed a search warrant at a home located at Blueberry Hill, where they uncovered five pounds of marijuana and a handgun containing 14 live rounds of ammunition. An adult male resident of the home was taken into custody in connection with this discovery.

30 ARRESTED DURING TWO SEPARATE POLICE OPERATIONS

POLICE are reporting the arrest of 30 persons in separate operations conducted by officers from the Southeastern and Southwestern Divisions on Tuesday 17th February 2015.

During the operation conducted by Southeastern Division officers, 15 persons were arrested for various offences such as house breaking, threats of death and outstanding court warrants.During the operation conducted by Southwestern Division officers, 15 persons were arrested for various offences such as, house breaking, stealing, armed robbery and stealing. Additionally, one stolen vehicles were recovered.

The Southeastern operation was under the command of Superintendent Maxine Leary-Rolle and the Southwestern operation was under the command of Superintendent Matthew Edgecombe.

TUESDAY MORNING POLICE OPERATION NETS 14 ARRESTS

POLICE are reporting the arrest of 14 persons for questioning reference to a number of major and minor incidents to include possession of dangerous drugs, housebreaking, threats of death and outstanding court warrants during an early morning operation conducted throughout New Providence on Tuesday morning.

The operation, which is consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2015, was under the command of Chief Superintendent Ashton Greenslade.

12 ARRESTED BY MOBILE DIVISION OFFICERS DURING 48 HOURS PERIOD

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities, Mobile Division saturation patrols intended to reduce crime and to minimize the ability for criminals to commit criminal activities resulted in the arrest of twelve (12) persons during the past 48 hours for various minor and major offences.

A BULGARIAN MAN TO APPEAR IN COURT TODAY

Police has charged a 38 – year old man from Bulgaria with fraud, possession of forged documents and breach of the Data Protection Act.

The suspect is expected to appear in court today at 11:00am to be formally charged.
