RBPF Nassau: Firearm & drugs seized, 1 man in custody - 15 arrested during operations

FIREARM AND DRUGS SEIZED, I MAN IN CUSTODY

Nassau, Bahamas - A 31 - year old man is in custody following the seizure of an illegal handgun and a quantity of dangerous drugs on Monday 19th January 2015.

Reports are, that shortly after 4:30pm, Mobile Division officers acting on intelligence boarded a public service bus in the vicinity of Wulff Road and Mackey Street, where they conducted a search of the suspect and found a handgun along with a quantity of marijuana in his possession. The suspect was taken into custody as is expected to appear in court later this week to be formally charged.

8 ARRESTED DURING SOUTHEASTERN DIVISION OPERATION


Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2015, Southeastern Division officers conducted an operation in the division on Monday 19th January 2015 that targeted persons wanted for various criminal offences.

The operation resulted in the arrest of 8 persons for possession of dangerous drugs, causing harm and assault with a deadly weapon.

The operation was under the command of Superintendent Maxine Leary-Rolle.

7 ARRESTED DURING SOUTHWESTERN DIVISION OPERATION

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2015, Southwestern Division officers conducted an operation in the division on Monday 19th January 2015 that targeted persons wanted for various criminal offences.

The operation resulted in the arrest of 7 persons for possession of dangerous drugs and outstanding criminal warrants.

The operation was under the command of Superintendent Matthew Edgecombe.

7 ARRESTED BY MOBILE DIVISION OFFICERS DURING 24 HOURS PERIOD


Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities, Mobile Division saturation patrols intended to reduce crime and to minimize the ability for criminals to commit criminal activities resulted in the arrest of seven (7) persons during the past 24 hours for various minor and major offences.
