RBPF Nassau: Firearms and drugs seized during raid on Home - 14 arrested during Operation

FIREARMS AND DRUGS SEIZED DURING SOUTHWESTERN DIVISION RAID ON HOME

Nassau, Bahamas - Two females ages 34 and 24 along with a 26 – year old male are in custody following a firearms and drugs seizure on Friday 16th January 2015.

According to reports, shortly after 11:00am, a team of officers from the Southwestern Division under the command of Superintendent Matthew Edgecombe, acting on intelligence executed a search warrant at a home located at Fire Trail Road, where they uncovered 2 handguns, 24 rounds of ammunition and just over nine pounds of suspected marijuana. The three suspects were taken into custody for questioning reference to this discovery.

14 ARRESTED DURING SOUTHEASTERN DIVISION OPERATION

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2015, Southeastern Division officers conducted an operation in the division on Thursday 15th January 2015 that targeted persons involved and wanted for various criminal offences.

The operation resulted in the arrest of 14 persons for offenses such as house breaking, shop breaking and dangerous drugs.

The operation was under the command of Superintendent Maxine Leary-Rolle.

POLICE are appealing to anyone with information regarding any crime, no matter how small or insignificant (the tip) may seem, to anonymously call Police at 919 or CRIME STOPPERS at 328-TIPS (8477) (New Providence) or 1-242-300-8476 (Family Islands)

WEEKLY PREVENTION CRIME TIP – REDUCING STEALING FROM VEHICLES

* When at home park in the driveway instead of the street

* Leave light illuminating vehicles at night

* Install security systems in your vehicles and activate!

* Do NOT leave valuables inside your vehicle, where items are easily seen

* DO NOT leave packages or gifts inside vehicle in plain sight. Place in trunk of vehicle.

* Do NOT leave any containers inside vehicle that a thief could be mistaken as being of value, (i.e. empty computer or electronic boxes, backpacks, etc…)

* Use common sense. Think like a thief.
