POLICE INVESTIGATE TRAFFIC FATALITY
Nassau, Bahamas - Police are investigating the death of a man who died following a traffic accident that occurred on Sunday 16th November 2014.
According to reports, shortly after 5:00pm, a traffic accident occurred at the junction of Bacardi Road and Venice Bay involving a Red Yamaha Scooter driven by the deceased and a Nissan Pathfinder vehicle driven by an adult female. The deceased was rushed to hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. The female was not injured and is assisting Traffic Department officers with this investigation.

4 ARRESTED AND 16 DRIVERS CITED BY MOBILE DIVISION OFFICERS DURING 24 HOURS PERIOD
Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2014, Mobile Division saturation patrols intended to reduce crime and to minimize the ability for criminals to commit criminal activities resulted in the arrest of four (4) persons and sixteen (16) drivers cited for various traffic violations during the past 24 hours for various criminal offences.
WEEKLY PREVENTION CRIME TIP - REDUCING VIOLENCE
• Look for ways to settle arguments and disagreements without violence. Remember: if you resort to violence to settle disputes, a child may well follow your example. Be a good role model.
• Use good manners to help ease tensions that can lead to violence. Teach kids that showing respect for themselves and for the needs of others can prevent crime.
• Report crimes and suspicious activities to police; agree to testify when necessary. If you want to live in a safe community, stand up for what you believe in.
• Don’t support illegal activities, like buying stolen property or using illegal drugs. It’s the wrong message to send to a child, and it involves you in criminal activity. It also encourages more crime that hurts you and your neighbours.
