RBPF Nassau: Police are investigating a stabbing incident which has left an adult male dead

POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING THE COUNTRY’S LATEST
HOMICIDE. 

Nassau, Bahamas - Police on New Providence are investigating a stabbing incident, Friday, 21st June, 2019 which has left an adult male dead.

According to reports, shortly after 11:00pm, a male was walking on Rosewood Street, Pinewood Gardens, when he was approached by a man who stabbed him about the body before running away. The injured man was transported to hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. 

Police have taken a 28 year old male resident of Pinewood Gardens into custody in connection with this incident. 

Investigations are ongoing.

ILLEGAL FIREARMS RECOVERED – 2 MALES IN CUSTODY

Police have recovered five (5) illegal firearms in two separate incidents, Friday, 21st June, 2019 and have taken two adult males into custody. 

In the first incident, according to reports, shortly after 1:00pm, two American males arrived on New Providence, at Jet Aviation, Lynden Pindling International Airport, via a private aircraft, and after a secondary search by a Customs Officer, were found in possession of a .38 revolver containing five (5) rounds of ammunition and a 9mm pistol with 2 magazines containing twenty-six (26) rounds of ammunition, which they had failed to declare to authorities. 

The men were taken into custody and handed over to police. Investigations are ongoing.

In the second incident, according to reports shortly after 10:00pm, South Western Division Officers acting on information conducted a search of a bushy area on Spikenard Road off Carmichael Road and recovered two (2) 9 millimeter pistols with

four (4) rounds of ammunition and a 12 gauge shotgun.

No one was taken into custody in connection with this incident. Investigations are ongoing.
