RBPF Nassau: Police are investigating the country’s latest Homicide - Illegal drugs recovered

POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING THE COUNTRY’S LATEST
HOMICIDE.

Nassau, Bahamas - Police on New Providence are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding a shooting incidents, Monday 30th September, 2019, which resulted in the death of an adult male and another male being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Shortly after 4:00pm, the men were sitting outside a business establishment on Charles Saunders Highway and Buttonwood Street, when two armed men came from a gray colour car and opened fire in their direction before making good their escape. One male succumbed to his injuries on scene, while the other was transported to hospital and is listed in stable condition.

Police wish to assure the public that they are aggressively on the ground in the South Eastern District pursuing leads into this matter; however police are appealing to members of the public, who may have information that can further assist with this investigation, to contact the Central Detective Unit at 502-9991/2, Crime stoppers at 328-TIPS (8477) or the nearest police station.

Investigations are ongoing.

ILLEGAL DRUGS RECOVERED – 4 MALES IN CUSTODY

The enduring and dedicated work of the men and women of the Royal Bahamas Police Force, has led to a large quantity of dangerous drugs recovered from the streets of New Providence, Tuesday, 1st October, 2019.

Shortly before 3:00am, Officers of the South Central Division acting on intelligence, executed a search warrant on a home at Chou Close off McKinney Drive and recovered seven (7) Sacks of suspected marijuana. Four (4) adult males who were at the home during the time of the search were taken into custody.
The drugs weighed 259 pounds and has an estimated street value of $259,000.00
Investigations are ongoing.
