RBPF Nassau: Police investigating death - Stabbing incident

Nassau, Bahamas - Police on New Providence are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of an adult male Sunday, 28th July, 2019.

According to reports, shortly before 5:00pm, police responded to Sea Breeze Drive off Beatrice Avenue, Sea Breeze Estate, where a male was found unresponsive, with an injury to the head. Paramedics were called to the scene and a short time later confirmed that the male was deceased. Police will await an atopsy report which will determine the exact cause of death.

Police are appealing to members of the public, who may have information that can assist with this investigation, to contact the Central Detective Unit at 502-9991/2, Crime stoppers at 328-TIPS (8477) or the nearest police station. 

Investigations are ongoing.

POLICE INVESTIGATES STABBING INCIDENT

Police on the island of New Providence are investigating a stabbing incident which left an adult female with injuries, Monday 29th July, 2019.

According to reports, shortly after 1:00am a woman was in the parking lot of a bar on Rosedale Street, when she got into an altercation with another woman, which escalated, resulting in her being stabbed about the body. The injured woman was taken to hospital and is listed in stable condition. 

Investigations are ongoing.

29 FIXED PENALTY NOTICES ISSUED TO DRIVERS BY MOBILE
DIVISION OFFICERS IN PAST 24 HOUR   

Officers from the Mobile Divisions conducted road checks in various parts of the island. Their efforts, which were intended to educate, reduce crime, and to minimize the ability of criminals to commit criminal activity, resulted in the arrest of twelve (12) persons for outstanding criminal warrants, stealing, fraud and assault over the past 24 hours.

Additionally, 29 drivers were ticketed for various traffic violations including, driving unregistered, uninsured vehicle and disobeying the traffic signal light. 

PREVENTION CRIME TIP - TAKE A STAND AGAINST ILLEGAL FIREARMS BY COOPERATING WITH THE POLICE IN PROVIDING INFORMATION REGARDING THE WHEREABOUTS OF ANY ILLEGAL FIREARM.
