RBPF Nassau: Police investigating the death of an adult male - 10 persons arrested; 33 fixed penalty notices

POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING THE COUNTRY’S LATEST
HOMICIDE. 

Nassau, Bahamas - Police on New Providence are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of an adult male, Monday, 2nd December, 2019.

According to reports, shortly after 6:00pm, two men were at a residence on Dominica Way off Carmichael Road, when they got into an argument, resulting in one leaving the residence. He returned a short time later, armed with a firearm and shot the other man, before running away. Paramedics were called to the scene and attempted to revive the injured man, but were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Police are appealing to members of the public, who may have information that can assist with this investigations, to contact the Central Detective Unit at 502-9991/2, Crime stoppers at 328-TIPS (8477) or the nearest police station.

10 PERSONS ARRESTED AND 33 FIXED PENALTY NOTICES
ISSUED TO DRIVERS BY MOBILE DIVISION IN PAST 48 HOUR  

Officers from the Mobile Division Officers conducted road checks in various parts of the island. Their efforts, which were intended to educate, reduce crime, and to minimize the ability of criminals to commit criminal activity, resulted in the arrest of ten (10) persons for outstanding court warrants, house breaking and causing harm.
Additionally 33 drivers were issued fixed penalty notices.

ARMED ROBBERY SAFETY TIPS –
  • PERSONNEL SAFETY FIRST! MONEY AND MERCHANDISE ARE NOT IMPORTANT AND CAN BE REPLACED
  • Stay calm and don’t resist.
  • Do as instructed and don’t make sudden moves.
  • Keep your hands visible at all times.
  • Get a look at the robber if possible, but don’t stare.
  • Activate the alarm only when it’s safe to do so.
  • If possible, get a look at the robber’s vehicle and the direction travel.
  • Do not follow the robber.
  • Install surveillance cameras and ensure that they are in working condition
