POLICE SEARCHING FOR ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECTS
Nassau, Bahamas - Police are searching for two males responsible for an armed robbery that occurred on Friday, 15th December, 2017.
According to reports, shortly after 8:00pm, two men armed with firearms entered a wholesale liquor store on Blue Hill Road and demanded cash. They were unsuccessful in robbing the establishment. However, they were able to rob two patrons of cash and other personal items before fleeing on foot.
Investigations are ongoing.
SUSPECTS SHOT BY POLICE, FIREARM RECOVERED, 1 MAN IN CUSTODY
Earlier
in the day, on Friday, 15th December, 2017 Police issued an APB (All
Points Bulletin) for a sky blue Nissan Bluebird Self Drive vehicle with
two suspicious looking men, who were seen casing the Palmdale area.
Shortly
after 7:00pm, officers on routine patrol spotted the vehicle in the
area of Homestead Street and Minnie Street and attempted to stop it. The
officers pursued the vehicle, which crashed into another vehicle on
Cordeaux Avenue and Washington Street. The passenger came from the
vehicle armed with a handgun. He pointed the gun at the officers and
fired it. The officers became in fear for their lives and shot the
suspect who died on the scene. The driver of the vehicle was taken into
custody.
A .45 Austria Glock Pistol along with a magazine with ammunition was recovered.
Her Majesty’s Coroner visited the scene and is investigating this incident.
