POLICE SEEK PUBLIC’S HELP IN SOLVING COUNTRY’S LATEST HOMICIDE.
Nassau, Bahamas - Police
on the Island of New Providence are investigating a shooting incident,
which left an adult male dead, Saturday, 4th August, 2018.
According
to reports, shortly before 5:00am, police were called to Abner Street,
Fox Hill, after gunshots were heard coming from a residence. Officers
discovered an adult male lying on the floor of his home with apparent
gunshots injuries to his body. Paramedics visited the scene but were
unable to revive the male. He was pronounced dead.
Investigations are ongoing.
POLICE INVESTIGATES ATTEMPTED ARMED ROBBERY AND STABBING INCIDENT
Police
on New Providence are investigating a stabbing incident which has left
an adult male with serious injuries, Friday, 3rd August, 2018.
According
to reports, shortly after 2:00pm the victim was at John Road, when he
was approached by two males armed with knives who attempted to rob him. A
struggle ensued, resulting in the victim being stabbed multiple times
about the body. He was transported to hospital and is listed in serious
condition.
Investigations are ongoing.
POLICE INVESTIGATES SHOOTING INCIDENTS
Police
are seeking the public’s assistance with any information that can
assist in solving two shooting incident which have left three men
hospitalized.
In the first incident, according to reports,
shortly after 4:00pm, Friday, 3rd August, 2018, a four men were driving
in a car on Hay Street, when the occupants of a silver vehicle opened
fire in their direction, injuring one of them. The men were able to
drive the victim to hospital, where he is now listed in stable
condition.
An adult male who was standing on the nearby park, received minor injuries, but declined medical attention.
In
a second incident, according to reports, shortly before 1:00am,
Saturday, 4th August, 2018, two men were driving on Alexandria
Boulevard, Nassau Village, when occupants of a gold car opened fire in
their direction, injuring both of them. The injured men drove to a
nearby residence and were assisted to hospital, where they are listed in
serious but stable condition.
Investigations are ongoing.
ILLEGAL FIREARM RECOVERED, 4 ADULT MALES IN CUSTODY
Nassau, Bahamas - The enduring and dedicated work of the men and women of the Royal Bahamas Police Force has led two illegal firearm and several rounds of ammunition being taken from the streets of New Providence.
Shortly after 4:00am, Saturday, 4th August, 2018, Flying Squad Officers were on routine patrol on Montrose Avenue, when they saw a silver vehicle with four male occupants. The men upon seeing the officers, begun acting in a suspicious manner and attempted to speed away. Officers were able to stop the vehicle, conducted a search and recovered a black .45 Pistol which contained 18 rounds of ammunition and a silver and black .45 pistol, which contained 13 rounds of ammunition. While searching one of the men, officers recovered a magazine with 8 rounds of ammunition.
The men were taken into custody and are expected to be formally charged before the Magistrate Court next week.
