POLICE SEEK PUBLIC’S HELP IN SOLVING COUNTRY’S LATEST HOMICIDES

Nassau, Bahamas - Police on the Island of New Providence are investigating two shooting incidents overnight which have left two adult males dead.

In the first incident, shortly before 10:00pm, Monday, 11th June, 2018, police responded to Step Street, Fox Hill, after receiving information that a man had been shot. Further information revealed that a man was walking on Step Street, when a dark colour vehicle pulled up beside him. He had a conversation with the occupants of this vehicle, before they shot him then sped off. Emergency Medical Personnel were called to the scene and made attempts to revive the injured man, but were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

In the second incident, shortly after 4:00am, Tuesday, 12th June, 2018, two men armed with firearms, entered the compound of a school on Baillou Hill Road and Tonique Williams Darling Highway, and approached a security guard who was sitting in his vehicle. An argument ensued, between the men, resulting in one of the gunmen, firing a shot, injuring the security officer before escaping on foot. Paramedics were called to the scene and made attempts to resuscitate the victim, but were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Investigations are ongoing.

POLICE INVESTIGATES SHOOTING INCIDENT

Police on the Island of New Providence are investigating a shooting incident Tuesday, 12th June 2018, which left an adult male with injuries.

Shortly after before1:00am, a group of persons were sitting in front of a yard, on Higher Drive, Flamingo Gardens, when a white Honda vehicle pulled up and gun shots were heard before it sped away.  A few minutes later, one of the men who was sitting in the yard, was discovered with gunshot injuries to his body. He was taken to hospital and is listed in serious but stable condition.

Investigations are ongoing.

POLICE SEEK PUBLIC’S HELP IN SOLVING ARMED ROBBERY

Police are asking members of the public, to come forth with any information they may have in solving two armed robberies, which occurred Monday. 11th June, 2018.

In the first incident, shortly after 3:00pm a woman was in the parking lot of a bank in Madeira Street, when she was approached by a male armed with an object, who robbed her of a bag containing cash before running away.

In the second incident, shortly after 5:00pm, an armed man entered a convenience store located on Grace Avenue and Robinson Road, held an employee at bay and robbed the  store of cash before running away.

Investigations are ongoing.
