Nassau police seek the public’s assistance in solving 3 armed robberies

Police on New Providence are seeking the public’s assistance with any information that can assist in solving three armed robberies which occurred Monday, 17th September, 2018.

Nassau, Bahamas - In the first incident, according to reports, shortly before 11:00am, Monday, 17th September, 2018 a male armed with a firearm, entered a gaming establishment on Wulff Road near to Hepburn Alley, held an employee at bay and robbed her of a cell phone and the establishment of cash, before making good his escape.

In the second incident, according to reports, shortly after 11:00pm, a female had just arrived at a residence on Wind Street, Sea Breeze Estate, when she was approached by four men armed with firearms, who robbed her of cash and other items. The men got into the vehicle with her and drover around for a while, before getting out of her vehicle on Breadfruit Street, Pinewood Gardens. The woman was not injured.

In the third incident, according to reports, shortly after 11:00pm, a male was standing in front of a residence on Breadfruit Street, Pinewood Gardens, when he was approached by two men armed with firearms, who came from a dark colored vehicle. The men robbed him of cash before getting into his grey Nissan Note license# AR9337 and both vehicle sped away. 

Investigations into these matters are ongoing.

US CITIZEN ARREST AFTER FAILING TO DECLARE

A 55 year old male citizens of the United States was taken into custody Monday, 17th September, 2018, after he failed to declare a large sum of US Currency.

According to reports, shortly after 7:00pm, the male presented himself to a US Border Control Officer at Lynden Pindling International Airport, but fail to declare the true amount of currency in his possession. The officers conducted a search of the man and recovered $36,905.00 cash.

He was taken into custody, handed over to the Police and is expected to be formally charged before a Magistrate Court later this week.
