Nassau police searching for suspects in 2 shooting incidents

Nassau, Bahamas - Police are seeking the public’s help in solving two separate shooting incidents that has left two men detained in hospital on Tuesday 17th May 2016.

In the first, that shortly after 12:30am, a man was walking on Miami Street and Cordeaux Avenue, when a man armed with a handgun approached and shot him before fleeing on foot. The victim was rushed to hospital where his condition is listed as stable.

In the second incident, shortly after 12:00noon, a man was sitting in his Ford Ranger truck on Yamacraw Beach, when a man armed with a handgun entered his truck and ordered him to drive to an ATM machine on Wulff Road, where forced him to withdrew some cash. The gunman then ordered the victim to drive to an area in western New Providence, where he shot and forced him out of the vehicle before speeding off. The victim was transported to hospital where he is listed in serious condition. Police later recovered the victim’s truck abandoned in an area off Carmichael Road.

Investigations are ongoing.
