Nassau police seeks Dunmore Street shooting suspects - Firearm and drugs seized by DEU, 3 in custody

POLICE SEEK SUSPECTS IN DUNMORE STREET SHOOTING

Nassau, Bahamas - Police are seeking the public’s help in locating the suspects responsible for a shooting incident that has left a man detained in hospital on Wednesday 17th August 2016.

Reports are that around 11:00pm, a man was standing near a home located on Dunmore Street, when the occupants of a tinted green Avalon vehicle approached and shot him before speeding off. The victim was rushed to hospital where he remains in stable condition.

Investigations are ongoing.

FIREARM AND DRUGS SEIZED BY DEU, 3 IN CUSTODY

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2016, officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit arrested two men and a woman following the seizure of several pounds of marijuana and a firearm in three separate incidents on Wednesday 17th August 2016.

In the first incident, shortly after 6:00am, Drug Enforcement Unit Officers executed a search warrant on a home located at Blue Hill Road South, where they uncovered twenty 20 pounds of marijuana. A 34 year old male and a 33 year old female were taken into custody in connection with this find.

In the second incident, around 9:00am, Drug Enforcement Unit Officers, executed a search warrant on a home located at Seabreeze Lane, where they uncovered two (2) pounds of marijuana. A 51 year old male resident was taken into custody in connection with this find.

Then shortly after 1:00pm, Drug Enforcement Unit Officers were on routine patrol in Garden Hills, where they uncovered a 9 millimeter pistol with 3 rounds of ammunition, near a park. No one was taken into custody in connection with this discovery.
