RBPF Nassau: Man arrested as police seize another gun, ammo

Nassau, Bahamas - Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2017, Police took a man into custody in relation to the seizure of a firearm and several rounds of ammunition on Saturday 16th September 2017.

According to reports, shortly before 10:00am, officers from the Mobile Division acting on information went to Wilson Track, where they accosted a man, and found an Antros Pistol with a magazine containing 8 rounds of ammunition in his possession.

Police are urging members of the public to report individuals who they know or suspect are in possession of illegal firearms. Individuals who come across a firearm should also report it to the police.

Police are appealing to the public to share information on any illegal/suspicious activities in their communities, no matter how small or insignificant (the tip) may seem, members of the public are urged to anonymously contact the police at 919 or Crime Stoppers at 328-tips (8477) (New Providence) or 1-242-300-8476 (Family Island)
