RBPF Nassau: Police investigates country’s latest homicide - Murder suspects to be charged

POLICE INVESTIGATES COUNTRY’S LATEST HOMICIDE 

Nassau, Bahamas - Police on the Island of New Providence are investigating a shooting incident Thursday, 9th October, 2019, which has left an adult male dead.

According to reports, shortly before 10:00pm a man was standing outside a bar in Kennedy Subdivision, when the occupants of a gray vehicle pulled up and opened fire in his directing, fatally wounding him before speeding away. 

Police are appealing to members of the public, who may have information that can assist with this investigation, to contact the Central Detective Unit at 502-9991/2, Crime stoppers at 328-TIPS (8477) or the nearest police station. 

Investigations are ongoing.

MURDER SUSPECTS TO BE CHARGED

Police are pleased to announce that two adult males will be formally charged in Magistrate Court at 12:00 noon on Thursday, 10th October, 2019 in connection with two homicides investigations.

  • A 42 year old male will be arraigned on two counts of murder and two counts of attempted murder, in connection with the death of Dwight Miller and Jimmy Augustine, who were killed on 6th September, 2019 at Key West Street.
  • A 29 year old male will be arraigned on one count of murder, in connection with the death of Antoino Farrington, who was killed on Wednesday, 18th September, 2019 at Bimini Avenue off Market Street.

HOMICIDE VICTIMS IDENTIFIED

Police have officially identified the male who were killed on Tuesday 8th October, 2019 at Spence Court off Wilson Track as Shawquon Terrance Johnson, age 22 years of Wilson Track.

Police are appealing to members of the public, who may have information that can assist with this investigation, to contact the Central Detective Unit at 502-9991/2, Crime stoppers at 328-TIPS (8477) or the nearest police station.
