In the first incident, shortly after 3:00pm on Thursday 30th July 2015, a man was at a business establishment located on West Bay Street, when a man armed with a handgun approached and robbed him of personal items before fleeing in a green Honda Accord vehicle.

A short while later police was on patrol on Gladstone Road where spotted the suspect in the getaway vehicle. The officers pursued the vehicle unto a side road off Golden Isles Road, where the suspect abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot. The officers were unable to catch the suspect.

In the second incident, around 9:00pm on Thursday 30th July 2015, a woman had just arrived at her home located at Godet Avenue off Carmichael Road, when a man armed with a handgun approached and robbed her of her handbag containing cash before fleeing on foot.

10 ARRESTED BY POLICE SPECIAL OPERATION TEAM

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2015, a special police operation team conducted an operation throughout the streets of New Providence on Thursday 30th July 2015, that resulted in the arrest of 10 persons for possession of dangerous drugs, house breaking, firearms, stealing, causing harm and threats of death.
