Royal Bahamas Police Force Annual Church Service and Parade set for Sunday

Nassau, Bahamas - The Royal Bahamas Police Force Annual Church Service and Parade will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday 31st January 2016 at Salem Union Baptist Church, Taylor Street off East Street.

Prior to attending church, officers will assemble at the Garden of Remembrance at Police Headquarters at 12:00noon, where a short memorial service will be held in honor of Police Officers fallen in the line of duty over the past years.

ROUTE TO SALEM UNION BAPTIST CHURCH FROM POLICE HEADQUARTERS

Following the Memorial Service, Officers led by Police Commissioner Ellison Greenslade will form into a parade at Police Headquarters, East Street, and travel from Police Headquarters to East Street, south on East Street to Taylor Street to Salem Union Baptist Church.

ROUTE FROM SALEM UNION BAPTIST CHURCH TO POLICE HEADQUARTERS

Following the service, officers will form into a parade and travel east on Taylor Street to East Street, south on East Street to Ross Corner, west on Ross Corner to Market Street, south on Market Street to Chapel Street, west on Chapel Street to Blue Hill Road, north on Blue Hill Road to Cumberland Street, north on Cumberland Street to Navy Lyon Road, continuing north onto Bay Street, east on Bay Street to East Street, south on East Street to Police Headquarters.

TRAFFIC DIVERSION:

From 12:00 noon until after the service vehicular traffic with intent to travel onto Taylor Street and East Street North will be diverted onto side streets; or are asked to continue south along East Street for proper traffic management in the vicinity of the church and along the parade route.

PARKING:-

Parking will be permitted in the parking lot of Salem Union Baptist Church Taylor Street.

NO PARKING:

TAYLOR STREET - BOTH SIDES

ROSS CORNER - BOTH SIDES

MARKET STREET BETWEEN ROSS CORNER AND CHAPEL STREET – BOTH SIDES

CHAPEL STREET - BOTH SIDES

BLUE HILL ROAD BETWEEN CHAPEL & CUMBERLAND STREET – BOTH SIDES

NAVY LION ROAD - BOTH SIDES

BAY STREET BETWEEN NAVY LION ROAD AND EAST STREET - BOTH SIDES

EAST STREET BETWEEN BAY STREET AND PRISON LANE - BOTH SIDES

ROAD CLOSURE:

Taylor Street between Market and East Streets from 12:00 noon until the completion of the service.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have any information regarding any crime, no matter how small or insignificant (the tip) may seem, to anonymously call Police at 919 or CRIME STOPPERS at 328-TIPS (8477) OR 1-242-300-8477 (FAMILY ISLANDS)
