Dame Marguerite Pindling hosted a Private Book  Signing with Her Royal  Highness Princess Michael of Kent in Celebrating Women International, at Government House, Saturday afternoon.  Also present was Mrs. Patricia Minnis, wife of Prime Minister the Most Hon. Dr. Hubert Minnis.  Princess Michael of Kent in her autobiography, "A Cheetah's Tale," tells of growing up in Mozambique, raising a cheetah called Tess, and the incredible bond that can exist between humans and animals...

Plastered in Pretty by N.C. Marks is a new pop culture novel published here by House of Nehesi Publishers (HNP).

Marks, from St. Vincent and the Grenadines, has written a “ferocious depiction” of a world dominated by social media appearances, said Gerty Dambury, a Prix Carbet author based in France.

Plastered in Pretty is “a dystopian tale set in a Caribbean paradise. Facebook and Instagram are virtual religious icons. A pyromaniac burns a new-born in the late night, and civil servants chat only via WhatsApp,” said HNP president Jacqueline Sample...

Art helps us to imagine, even create our possibilities. Literature, the word, gives us license to put pen to paper, to creatively express our thoughts. The wedding of both genres in books from House of Nehesi Publishers (HNP), was recently celebrated with an art exhibit in St. Martin at the intimate gallery of the elegant Sheer Restaurant.

The HNP exhibition, entitled “Art & Words – A Marriage,” showcased 27 prints and original art of mostly book covers linked to the indie press for the last 39 years. A number of the pieces were on loan from their owners...

Sir Durward Knowles who is now the oldest living Olympic champion in the world and a renowned Bahamian sailor, is penning another book to be released in October 2017, a month before his centurion birthday.

Sir Durward has chosen Scholar Books to publish “Never Give Up,” an inspirational book that covers his recovery from serious health complications that had caused him to rearrange his entire life.

In 2010, Sir Durward endured many health struggles undergoing several surgeries, months of recovery and having to learn to walk again. In 2015, he had a relapse and fought hard to get healthy again...
