Alice Walker “reading” Plastered in Pretty by N.C. Marks - May 22, 2019 - 6:45:42 AM
“I’m reading Pretty and I’m loving it. It’s fresh, you are writing for
these times. I also like the fact that you spoke in your language,” said
acclaimed USA author Alice Walker to Vincentian writer N.C. Marks about
her new novel, Plastered in Pretty.
One of the world’s noted authors reading and commenting on the new book
by a totally new novelist from the Caribbean? “Priceless. Graciously
generous comments from a revolutionary writer,” said Lasana M. Sekou,
projects director here at HNP, the book’s publisher.
The writers met last weekend at the Anguilla Literary Festival, where
the Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist and poet, Alice Walker, was the

Bahamian talk show host and university academic advisor, Kirk Johnson
has released his first book, My Heart Matters: Making a Comeback After
Love Breaks Your Heart. The publication debuts just as Johnson, “Mr.
Matters of the Heart,” revealed plans to relaunch his popular radio show
“Matters of the Heart” in 2019.
Johnson’s talk show was a hit in
The Bahamas, where he went live to moderate lively discussions on
family, relationships, grief, personal growth, and other human-interest
topics. He continues to inspire through his social media platforms as a
relationship educator and persistence coach.

Campbell endorses ‘courage’ behind "Revelations of a Silent Heart" - May 1, 2019 - 2:38:51 PM
Minister of Social Services and Urban Development, the Hon. Frankie A.
Campbell, recently endorsed the effort behind the book “Revelations of a
Silent Heart” by literally “putting his money where his mouth is” and
purchasing the first five copies of the book during its launch on Friday
(April 26).
Minister Campbell said he will undertake a number of
other initiatives to further assist the book’s author, Mr. Kevin Eldon

New author Kevin Cartwright has released “Revelations of a Silent
Heart”, his first in a series of books that he hopes would touch hearts
and ignite love and passion in readers. He describes the book as “a
brave compilation of various moods of poetry and prose that speak about
life, love, risks and the courage to face head on whatever life throws
at him”. Readers will see life and live through the eyes of a blind man.
