The Royal Bahamas Defence Force is continuing its search for Mr. James
Green, a boater who went missing after leaving Sandy Point, Abaco on
April 16, 2019.

RBDF Apprehends Haitian Migrants

A total of 40 migrants are being detained after they were
apprehended in the southern Bahamas on Tuesday morning by members of the
Royal Bahamas Defence Force.
Acting on information received,
HMBS Durward Knowles, under the command of Senior Lieutenant Bertram
Bowleg, apprehended a 35-ft Haitian sloop off the south coast of Little
Inagua Island. A further search of the uninhabited Island and
surrounding area led to the apprehension of 34 males and 6 females, who
all appeared to be in good health.

graduation ceremony for the Joint Combined Exercise Training (JCET)
program for 19 Bahamas Customs and Excise Officers at the Defence Force
Base on Thursday March 28, 2019.

The Royal Bahamas Defence Force is saddened by the loss of Senior Commander Amos Rolle, who passed away on February 25, 2019.
Commander Rolle was the former commanding officer of the ill-fated HMBS
Flamingo during the Cuban incident on May 10th, 1980. Approximately 40
days prior to the incident, he became one of the pioneers of a
fledgling Defence Force when he along with 27 individuals were
officially transferred from the Royal Bahamas Police Force Marine
Division to the newly formed Royal Bahamas Defence Force in March 1980...
