Due to impending thunderstorms the Tarrus Riley concert has been postponed to June 16 - May 17, 2018 - 9:00:52 AM

The Grand Bahama Homecoming Committee would like to inform the general public including ALL Media outlets, sponsors, service providers, ticket holders and proposed patrons, that due to the impending thunderstorms and showers that Grand Bahama is expected to receive this weekend, the concert slated for Saturday, May 19th on Goombay Park grounds with featured artist "Tarrus Riley", has been postponed to Saturday, June 16th, 2018.

The concert shall take place on the new date at the same venue and all ticket holders are asked to retain your tickets for the new date as all tickets shall be honored...

The Bahamas National Trust condemns the killing of the sea turtle in Grand Bahama.  We commend the officers of the various agencies who coordinated the arrest of the three people responsible for the capture and brutal slaughter of a loggerhead turtle last week in Grand Bahama.

The 2009 ban on the harvest of sea turtles was enacted to protect these species, all of which are endangered. The effort led jointly by several NGOs with the support of the Bahamian public is part of a global conservation effort to protect these charismatic animals...

A little over 6 months ago, executives of The Grand Bahama Port Authority, Limited (GBPA), unveiled its Capital Arena Initiative, a grant funding project, to assist aspiring entrepreneurs and existing business owners. This week, the Port will announce the 19 finalists set to compete in GBPA’s Capital Arena, for a chance to receive up to $15,000 to start or grow their business.

GBPA’s Capital Arena Initiative seeks to introduce a minimum of 4 new businesses into the local economy annually. According to Ian Rolle, GBPA President, the Port hopes to identify the best business ideas local entrepreneurs have to offer and assist with funding and support for these businesses to flourish...
