Gary Sands is making history in the beverage industry worldwide. He is one of the youngest persons ever to take the helm of a major beverage company. At the age of 27, Gary has recently been promoted to General Manager of Jimmy’s Wines & Spirits with a staff of 60 under his management. He will command the operations at all Jimmy’s locations in Nassau, North Eleuthera and Abaco except for Freeport, Grand Bahama where the parent company, Bahamian Brewery and Beverage Company is located. Jimmy’s has eight distribution centers in New Providence, Freeport, North Eleuthera and Marsh Harbor, Abaco.

As General Manager, Gary is now responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company, and also has marketing, sales and accounts under his purview...

While Christmas is traditionally a time for food, friends and family, some of our country’s elderly and most vulnerable citizens are often those who do not have holiday luxuries. With that in mind, the Water & Sewerage Corporation set out to bring holiday cheer to patients of the Yellow Elder Senior Citizens’ Center. Armed with gifts, games, Christmas carols as well as a traditional holiday meal with all the fixings, the team of WSC volunteers visited with those at the center to spread much needed Christmas cheer.

The Water and Sewerage Corporation (WSC) wishes to advise our valued customers and the general public that we experienced a major failure of our water transmission main on Cambridge Lane, off Blue Hill Road North around 6:00 AM this morning, Sunday December 03rd 2017.  WSC teams immediately responded and commenced the required repairs.  Unfortunately, the initial repair work was not successful and the teams have now commenced a more extensive repair plan.  These works are anticipated to be completed by late this evening.

This transmission main failure has resulted in low pressure and/or no water to customers in Central New Providence, bounded on the east by Village Road, south to Wulff Road and west to Nassau Street...
