Hurricane Dorian Help Lands at LPIA in Nassau - Sep 5, 2019 - 12:16:23 PM

On Sept. 4 relief flights continued landing at Lynden Pindling International Airport (LPIA) with much-needed supplies for the islands impacted by Hurricane Dorian. A disaster response team from the non-denominational Christian group, Samaritan’s Purse began a two-day mission to airlift supplies into The Bahamas.

Commercial airlines including Air Canada, American Airlines, Jet Blue, Delta and others also brought in relief items when flying passengers into LPIA. Supplies from the commercial flights were taken from the aircraft, placed on helicopters and other aircraft and sent directly to Abaco and Grand Bahama Island.

The Nassau Airport Development Company Ltd. wishes to advise the public that the Lynden Pindling International Airport (LPIA) is open and operating today.It is anticipated that the airport will be open for operations on Monday, September 2, 2019 although airline schedules may vary.

Consolidated Water (Bahamas) Ltd. (CWCO) hailed CV Bethel high school for helping to mould the “future of science” in The Bahamas with their annual 12th grade Science Competition. The water company was a sponsor of this year’s event, which allows all senior high school students of CV Bethel to participate in mock BGCSE examinations for the sciences in preparation for the national examinations.
