Nassau, The Bahamas – The Sheraton Nassau Beach Resort, located in Nassau, The Bahamas, has announced the appointments of Denise Ward and Horatio Smith as Catering Sales Managers for The Bahamas. Based in Nassau, Ward and Smith will act as “Directors of Romance,” responsible for selling destination wedding and reception packages in domestic and international markets. The wedding duo will also provide consultation to couples planning their wedding at the resort, guiding them throughout the process, and coordinating all aspects of their special day.

Ward comes to the Sheraton Nassau Beach Resort from My Brother’s Keeper Foundation in Nassau, where she provided business consulting services to small business owners in Rwanda. She also planned and executed all of the Foundation’s private fundraising events. Prior to that, she was the Hospitality Business Consultant for the Ku Itaba Prince Hotel in Butare, Rwanda. Ward began her career as a Food & Beverage Assistant at the Lyford Cay Club in Nassau...

In this new role, Johnson will oversee menu planning and food cost management for the six restaurants and lounges on property as well as supervise the resort’s team of 75 culinary and stewarding staff members. Johnson is a Certified Professional Chef, and lecturer, with over eighteen years of Food and Beverage experience.

Johnson comes to the Sheraton Nassau Beach Resort from the Westin and Sheraton at Our Lucaya Beach and Golf Resort on Grand Bahama Island; he began his tenure there as Sous Chef and worked his way up to Food and Beverage Manager. He also gained experience at the Westin Buckhead in Atlanta, where he was Executive Chef at the 390-room resort and was responsible for overseeing a culinary and stewarding team of 60 staff...
