Kudos go out to the Officers and Marines of the Royal Bahamas Defence
Force (RBDF) for a great showing at The 11th Annual Sunshine Insurance
Marathon Bahamas (Race Weekend) race on Sunday January 19th, 2020.
The
RBDF had a total of 2 relay teams and 3 individual half-marathon
runners in the competition. The RBDF Road Runners 1 Team consisting of
Able Seamen Gharvis Sturrup and Michael Gibson and Marine Seamen
Wellington Ramsey and Marvin Minns finished with an overall time of
three hours, twenty-eight minutes and eighteen seconds (3:28:18)...

Colina Insurance Limited is sponsoring two Junior Baseball League of
Nassau (JBLN) teams during the league’s 2020 season. The Colina Tigers
will compete in the Coach-Pitch (ages 7-8) division while the Colina
Crushers will contend in the Girls Softball (under-21) division. Taige
Adderley, of Colina’s Corporate Communications department had the
opportunity to meet with the teams during JBLN's opening day ceremony at
the JBLN Field of Dreams this past weekend...

Congratulations are in order for Bahamian Justin Roberts who graduated
with a Masters Degree in Sports Law and Business. Justin obtained this
degree whilst also securing doubles and singles wins on the procircuit during the year.
Justin's
first degree was a Bachelors of Science in Finance. He followed up with
his graduate degree in short order. The Bahamas Lawn Tennis Association
extends hearty congratulations to Justin on remaining focused and

Free Tennis Clinic was provided to the young children from The Ranfurly
Home For Children by The Bahamas Lawn Tennis Association(BLTA).
Over
the past months The BLTA happily welcomed the kids at The National
Tennis Centre. President Darnette Weir stated "We wanted to provide this
avenue for the young boys and girls from the children's home to
experience the sport of tennis knowing that if we can make their life a

Buffalo Bulls won the 2019 Makers Wanted Bahamas Bowl today at the
Thomas A. Robinson National Stadium. Pictured with the champion team,
presenting awards are Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture the Hon.
Lanisha Rolle, centre, and Director General of Tourism Joy Jibrilu,
centre left. The Bulls won against the Charlotte 49ers with a score of
31-9. Jaret Patterson was named Offensive Player of the Game, and
Malcolm Koonce was awarded Defensive Player of the Game.

Makers Wanted Football Players Coach Bahamian Youth - Dec 20, 2019 - 2:55:08 PM
Makers Wanted Bahamas Bowl recently held a Youth Football Clinic at the
Thomas A. Robinson National Stadium at which Bahamian youth were coached
by Buffalo Bulls and Charlotte 49ers teams. The teams arrived Monday
to kick off the sixth year of the Makers Wanted Bahamas Bowl. Kickoff
takes place today at the National Stadium. Officials of the Bahamas
Ministry of Tourism & Aviation will attend the event, televised in
the United States on ESPN.

The Tigers of LSU built an early lead and never looked back as they won
the Bimini Division title over the Tigers of Memphis. LSU was led by
tournament MVP Khayla Pointer with 17 points on 8-11 shooting and 3
assists. Memphis’s leading scorer was Jamirah Shutes scoring 14 in the

Association Football (Concacaf) and Scotiabank have announced the second
edition of the Scotiabank Concacaf Next Play Cup to be held from
November 28 to December 7. This invitational youth tournament will be

Bahamas, Barbados, Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago.
