Police are reporting the arrest of 5 adult males in connection with possession of dangerous drugs during an anti-crime operation dubbed, “Steady the Land” conducted throughout New Providence, Thursday,17th January, 2019.

Shortly after 2:00pm, the Officers from the Operations Team, acting on information went to a bushy area off Kemp Road, where they discovered five adult males. Officers conducted a search of the immediate area and recovered 40 packages of suspected marijuana, weighing 22 lbs...

The Grand Bahama Chamber of Commerce (GBCC) will officially welcome the 2019 Executive Board at their Annual Installation Ceremony on Friday, January 18th, at the Grand Lucayan Resort in Freeport.  Minister of Finance, Hon. K. Peter Turnquest, Deputy Prime Minister of The Commonwealth of The Bahamas, and former President of The Grand Bahama Chamber of Commerce will be the guest speaker and will help induct the board.

Junior Chef Apprentice Program Launched - Jan 17, 2019 - 9:30:04 AM

An apprenticeship program designed to help aspiring young chefs achieve their goals was recently launched by twins Rico and Ricah Neely. Although they are just fresh out of high school themselves, they know that there are limited opportunities available for students, and they wanted to create more in a field for which they are passionate about.

Rico is already an award-winning chef studying in New York City, and Ricah is at the University of the Bahamas pursuing a marketing degree, while already practicing in the field. Together, they came up with the Queen Esther foundation, named after their departed grandmother, well-known Elisabeth Estates community leader Esther Neely-Brown...

Police in Grand Bahama need your assistance in finding the person(s) responsible for a shooting incident that has left a male dead.

Reports are that on Sunday 13th January 2019, shortly after 12am, police were alerted to gunshots being fired in the area of East Atlantic Drive. Officers quickly responded and upon arrival discovered the lifeless body of a male, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are appealing to the public for any information that can assist with this

investigation, to give them a call at the Central Detective Unit at telephone numbers 350-3107 thru 12, 911/919 or call your nearest police station.

Police are seeking the public assistance in locating a man who is wanted for questioning in connection with a homicide investigation.
The suspect is: Andre Thompson, age 26 years of Sequoia Street, Pinewood Gardens.
Thompson is described as being 6’3” tall, medium build with brown complexion.

Anyone knowing the whereabouts of Andre Thompson is asked to contact the Central Detective Unit at 502-9991/2, 919/911 or the nearest Police Station. Thompson is considered armed and dangerous.
