Lucayan Renewal Holdings Ltd (“LRHL”) has heard comments made by Mr.
Obie Ferguson regarding proceedings recently filed by LRHL with the
Industrial Tribunal seeking constitutional relief in regards to a Trade
Dispute filed by the former Hotel Union with the Industrial Tribunal in
2017. The proceedings recently filed by LRHL are not contentious, but
as a matter of procedure, it is necessary to conclude the outstanding
matter and to include the Attorney General and the Tribunal when a party
to a trade dispute is seeking relief under the Constitution...

Newly Renovated Stoned Crab opens at Taino Beach Helping to Make Grand Bahama Grand Again - Aug 25, 2019 - 12:00:40 PM
Last week, the business community of Grand Bahama officially helped
proprietor Olivia Pagés open her newly revamped Stoned Crab Restaurant
and Bar on Taino Beach. The iconic restaurant, with its signature,three
pointed roofs was packed with well-wishers including the Deputy Prime
Minister, Peter Turnquest, who is also the MP for the Lucaya area.
Welcoming
guests to the event, was Master of Ceremonies, Brenford Christie,
well-known attorney for McKinney, Bancroft & Hughes, and Step-Father

Keep Grand Bahama Clean Sign Installation - Aug 9, 2019 - 5:35:15 PM
The Keep Grand Bahama Clean Committee (KGBC), along with some of its
partnering members BNT, MOT, and Sanitation Services, installed a sign
this past week on Coral Road to continue to spread awareness about the
negative impacts of pollution and to encourage residents to be
environmental stewards. The newly erected sign on Coral Road represents
the ongoing campaign by KGBC to promote cleanliness and environmental
awareness through eye-catching, engaging and humorous promotional signs
posted around the island.

Executives from The Utilities Regulation and Competition Authority
(URCA) have embarked on a series of public town hall meetings to listen
to the concerns of consumers. The URCA representatives have held
discussions with residents in Abaco and in New Providence, and now

Recent investigations undertaken by
Grand Bahama Power Company (GBPC) have revealed several residents and
businesses have purchased an alleged “energy saving device” from a local
company.
Through our investigations and discussions with
affected customers, GBPC learned that these businesses purchased what
they believed was an energy-saving device from a local company. These
businesses are a victim of fraud and were in fact either connected
directly to GBPC’s power system via a meter bypass, or the meters were
tampered with to under-read actual usage...

The Grand Bahama Port Authority, Limited wishes to advise the public
that as Regulators, we were notified by The Grand Bahama Power Company
(GBPC) that during a course of their recent meter audit, they discovered
a number of suspected electricity diversions at several businesses
within the Port Area. As a result, we immediately began our own
independent investigations into this matter which is currently ongoing.
Thus far, we can confirm that all of the work performed by the licensee
was unpermitted, and was executed outside the scope of the license.
As this matter is currently with the Royal Bahamas Police Force and
investigations are still ongoing, we do not wish to comment any further
to interfere with the Police investigations. We do believe that due
process will be carried out and we are...

Bay Hotel this past weekend, was a heartwarming experience for
President and CEO of the Fort Lauderdale Film Festival (FLIFF), Greg Von
