has recently introduced
Fiamma their new signature handbag collection, inspired by the female generations of the Ferragamo family and their enduring influence on the House today.
Under creative director Massimiliano Giornetti, this ultra-sophisticated design and unique construction reflect the inherent DNA of Ferragamo’s Italian legacy and future through the harmonious mix of exquisite materials such as calfskin, python, pony hair and crocodile adorned with sleek metal hardware details.
Luxury bag collection inspired by family legacy
Named after founder Salvatore’s late daughter Fiamma Ferragamo, the house’s leather accessories and shoe designer for almost 40 years who founded the iconic Vara pump, a mid-heeled patent ballet-style shoe with a grosgain bow and metallic disk.
The challenge in creating exclusive handbags was to incorporate Ferragamo’s signatures – innovated design, interesting combinations of exotic materials, use of iconic silk print linings from the 1970’s, novelty hardware stemming from the brand’s origins – while showcasing the house’s classic heritage alongside a new playful style for the next generation.
Luxe details abound with Fiamma
With a semi-circular top handle, designed in a range of five variant sizes, incorporates a functional pocket fastened with a lock that recalls the Gancio bit – a round shaped hook – the eternal symbol of Ferragamo’s history and dedication to modern design and luxurious craftsmanship.
Fiamma includes luxe details such as top-stitched ribbed handles, double zip hardware, removable adjustable shoulder strap and elegant satin lining.
The color palette favors autumnal browns – Cocoa, Black, Moss and Rosewood – as well as seasonal shades such as Plum, Atlantic, Grape and the lighter touch of New Bisque.
Hermes has the Birkin, Channel the 2.55 and now Ferragamo brings us the Fiamma, handbags that are so exclusive that they become iconic for the fashion label.
Prices range up to US$25,000 and available at Salvatore Ferragamo boutiques worldwide.
