Versace, a label known for high voltage sensuality and rock star looks has taken on a softer side for their fall winter 2014 collection at Milan Fashion Week favoring a bias cut – where the fabric is cut diagonally – which allows a garment to hang more relaxed on a woman’s body.

Donatello Versace has chosen to focus on proportion and cut rather than embellishment, which may be the beginning of a new chapter for her line.

Bold colors made up her collection with asymmetric cut dresses, slips, evening cocktail dresses and leather tuxedos.

The slip dresses were featured in white, red and powder blue which was very understated in what we been accustomed to expect from Versace for many years.

What I admired about Versace is that it was built on a rock and roll party girl who was cutting-edge fashion with a highly-polished look while oozing sexuality day and night.

Luxury glamour was still present with Versace’s accessories with thigh-high boot embroidered with gold thread, gold accent handbags and gold jewelry on the models everywhere.

Donatello Versace  still makes a statement with her fall winter collection but she is more buttoned down, following the trend of Marc Jacobs and Michael Kors who are playing it safe for upcoming fall winter.

Is this the new face of luxury?
