"All life is a chance. So take it! The person who goes furthest is the one who is willing to do and dare."- Dale Carnegie

Without question these are very stressful financial times and I am sure that not a day goes by without you being made aware of the uncertainties of the world’s economy and how that may impact your own financial survival. So how do you avoid being swept up and overwhelmed by what is happening around you?

Well here are seven things you can do to cope better with your financial stress and improve your financial health.

Don’t sweat it!

This is easier than you think. Just by simply avoiding the noise in the market place you would be surprised at how your stress level will drop.  Think about how much time you spend around and hear persons complaining about what they do not have? This is because most persons are addicted to failure.

So for the next week get out of the daily news circle and experience the difference not being constantly bombarded with bad news will make. And during this time do not complain about the economy or your own problems or even hang around persons that are complaining.

I am not asking you to deny or stop thinking about the economic crisis but only think about it to the extent that you can control it.  No use worry about what you can not change.

This too shall pass

In the midst of your struggle it is easy to feel as if it will never end.  But there are four words that were made famous by Og Mandino and "have been passed down from the ancients” that will carry you through every adversity and help you maintain balance in your life.  These four words are - “This too shall pass.”

No matter what  you may be experiencing today just as the sun will set and the day will end, this too will pass. And before long will only be a distant memory.

Laugh!

I am sure you have been hearing it for as long as you can remember “that laughter is the best medicine.”  Well find something to laugh about every day and experience the change just laughing a little will do for you.

Forget “out of sight, out of  mind”

I am always surprised by the number of persons who feel that it will help if they just ignore their finances.  Let me tell you it won't get better.  Your money problems won't just go away because you ignore it.  So make up your mind that you will face your finances today. When you decide to face your money problems and do something about it - only then will things change.

If you need help then “Taking Control of Your Money” workbook is a useful resource to have.

Get Your Body Moving

It's been proven that those who regularly exercise have lower stress levels than those who don't.  So start moving your body each and every day. And you can do this my walking as little as three minutes and gradually building up to where you are exercising for at least 30 minutes a day.

This gradual buildup is the exact opposite of what most persons usual do. But it is exactly what you want to do as it will help you to really develop a routine that you can sustain over time, which is what you want.  Not a burst of activity for a few weeks and then relapsing back to no activity at ll.

Track Your Expenses

Here again you cannot afford to ignore what is happening with your money.  Start right away tracking your spending. You need to know exactly how you are spending every penny.  Some one says “if you take care of your pennies, your dollars will take care of themselves.”

So track your spending for the next thirty days and you will be surprise at where your money is going. And leakages that you will be able to fix over the next eleven months.

Increase your income

Even though you may be working your 9-5 job, one of the most important things you can do is develop another stream of income. This one thing will increase your financial security and reduce your stress level more than anything else you can do.
It will reduce your worries about job security, salary increases, benefits and reduce your dependence on one income.

So start today looking for ways that you can begin earning more money. And get your family involved, you will be amazed at the results and how your life will change in the next 12 months.

There you have it - Seven things you can do today, none of them very difficult but the results will be incredible - a stress-less financially healthy life!
