Spring is here and with it comes a slew of trends to keep your fashion binging in full swing. One of the major trends this season is bohemian glamour. More of a perennial fashion favorite and lifestyle than a trend, bohemian styles are inherently innocent and carefree and always gain momentum when the weather warms up and the desire for more relaxed clothing increases.

Ethnic prints such as ikat, lightweight tunics, wide leg trousers and rich gold jewelry are just some of the hallmark elements that can be combined to pull off a stellar bohemian chic look.

Office Chic

Bohemian dressing evokes a feeling of carefree styling, playing up comfort and natural beauty. However it is possible to incorporate these style elements into a look that is still professional and pulled together.

If you have to be suited up during the work week, show a little personality with a chic bohemian inspired casual Friday look. Wide leg trousers are all the rage at the moment. A tailored pair in a neutral hue is a great base to build a bohemian professional look. A blouse in an ethnic inspired pattern, floral or abstract print in an earthy hue can play up the look. Gold jewelry and rich jewel tone semiprecious stones can also help to pull the look together.

Beach Bunny

Summer doesn’t arrive for another couple months, but the temperatures are already soaring. Heralding in those long lazy beach Sundays on the boat to your favorite little island or closer to home at your favorite beach around the corner. Whether your preference is a barely there string bikini or a full coverage one piece, you can make your beach look bohemian chic with little effort.

There are many printed swimsuits with a bohemian look. If you’re looking for something ultra feminine opt for a swimsuit with a small floral or paisley pattern - retro and boho-chic. Ikat and other ethnic inspired prints are another option for a suit that screams laid back summer fun.

Crochet swimsuits are also popular locally and have a bohemian flair. There are a number of young designers who can make your suit to order including Adelle 13 Crotchet Swimwear and Accessories, which you can find on Facebook.
For those who prefer a simple solid colored swimsuit, add a fun ethnic printed sarong to your look for a bohemian edge.

Break out the worldly prints, earthy hues and lightweight tunics and channel your inner bohemian goddess this spring and summer.
