Grand Bahama Island - It’s time once again for family favourite summer event - the 38th Annual Bernie Butler BASRA Swim Marathon and Beach Party. Each year, the Bahamas Air Sea Rescue Association seeks to raise funds for their vital services. Come on down, Saturday, August 16th to Coral Beach, just off Royal Palm Way near Coral Road. Events take place all day...

The Bahamas Air Sea Rescue Association (Grand Bahama) is a dedicated non-profit voluntary organization committed to saving the lives of distressed seamen or airmen in the Bahamas. They are supported only by private donations and therefore require your support through their fundraising projects. Aside from the costs of their daily operations and rescue efforts, they are seeking to purchase modern lifesaving equipment like defibrillators. In addition, they are looking to the future where they can have a permanent waterfront base of operations with their own building, on Grand Bahama.

Get Your Ad/Photo on the BASRA Calendar and Support a Vital Service - May 5, 2008 - 3:43:58 PM

BASRAgrandbahamaWEB_1.jpg

The BASRA (Bahamas Air Sea Rescue Association) Grand Bahama calendar began in 2002 as an annual fundraiser to assist with the operating costs of BASRA Grand Bahama – a vital non-profit community service.  The calendar quickly became a community effort supported not only by local businesses who participated by placing ads, but also by families choosing to help. The family component of the calendar is most popular as children liked seeing their photos printed on their birth date or whatever the special occasion might be.

With the rising cost of operating BASRA, just one rescue alone can cost thousands of dollars, so you can see how quickly their revenues can be depleted annually. This calendar generates enough money for BASRA to continue to do their job and protect us all. Click to see Calendar SAMPLES and learn more...

Can a bikini save a life? Well, in a round-a-bout way, it just might. The Bahamas Air Sea Rescue Association, more commonly known as BASRA, recently launched its all-new 2007-2008 BASRA Swimsuit Calendar as a key component to its annual fund-raising efforts. Money raised through the sale of the calendar will go directly towards keeping BASRA active as the only dedicated rescue organisation in the Bahamas.

This week the Calendar’s producer photographer, sponsor and two of the swimsuit models flew from Grand Bahama to New Providence for a media blitz in the capitol to do a media blitz and meet with BASRA Nassau...
