In
the book of Revelation chapters 2–3, Yahshua Messiah (a.k.a. Jesus the Christ) spoke
via letters to the angles of the seven churches [Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamos,
Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia & Laodicea] and each of the churches were
given this warning
“He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the
church”
Listen,
I know that you love your Denominational or None-Denominational church, your
Bishop, Apostle, Doctor, Pastor. Etc; but it’s time for you to grow up /
spiritually mature, develop an Ear to hear, what the Spirit saith unto your
religious church.
Watch
this!
The
Church at Ephesus
(Rev.2:1):
In
Asia Minor, Ephesus was one of the most commercial and religious city; the famous
temple of the goddess Artemis (Diana) was located in Ephesus.
Ephesus,
served as the mother church to the others, all of which was connected by the
same Roman road; hence the saying
“All road leads to Rome”
The
church of Ephesus was commended for its faith and perseverance through
persecution, but its people scolded for having left their first love / devotion
to Christ.
What
about your church?
He that hath an ear,
let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
The
Church at Smyrna
(Rev.2:8):
The
believers / Saints of Smyrna were under great persecution and had been reduced
to poverty; they were being reviled by unbelieving Jews. This church received
no condemnation from Christ but was encouraged to faithfully endure suffering.
“Rev.2:
9.
I know thy works, and tribulation, and
poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they
are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.”
What
about your church?
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the
Spirit saith unto the churches.
The
Church at Pergamos
(Rev.2:12):
As there were many false / religious teachers
in Pergamos who was married to the political system. The reference to the sharp
sword shows that Christ will judge the false teachers at Pergamos.
Verse:
13. Satan’s seat,
is reference to the religious paganism
centered in Pergamos where there was a throne like altar to the god Zeus, also
a temple to Asklepios (symbolized by a serpent) and various temples dedicated to
the worship of the Roman emperor. But, Christ commends the church at Pergamos
for remaining faithful in the midst of such satanic influence.
Verses:
14 – 16. The doctrine of Balaam:
A compromised of Christianity with paganism resulting
in idolatry and immorality. The entire church was urged to repent of the
toleration and sins of these false teachers.
What
about your church?
He that hath an ear,
let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
The
Church at Thyatira
(Rev.2:18):
The
city of Thyatira was controlled by a female dominated dye and cloth industry; it
is possible that the church here suffered from female false teachers. There was
a self proclaimed prophetess at Thyatira
(Rev.2:19 -23) whom Christ called
“Jezebel”
as she was leading the church into false doctrine, idolatry and
immorality. She refused to repent, and therefore would be judged along with her
followers.
Verses:
24 – 25.
There
was a godly remnant of believers in Thyatira who had not accepted these deep
false teachings; they were exhorted to hold fast what is good, and to reject
evil.
What
about your church?
He that hath an ear,
let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
The
Church at Sardis
(Rev.3:1):
The
glory of the city of Sardis was mostly in the past, so the church was virtually
dead in spirit and works; and was a representative of dead orthodoxy.
The exhortation of
(verses 2 – 3) to the
church of Sardis is both positive and negative; the godly believing remnant is
encouraged to
“strengthen the things which remain”
The rest should remember the sound teaching they
received from the apostles, hold it fast, and repent of their deadness and
faithlessness.
What
about you church?
He that hath an ear,
let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
The
Church at Philadelphia
(Rev.3:7):
The
reference to the
key of David is taken from
Isaiah.22:22, where it relates to
messianic authority. The
open door, which no man can shut,
refers to an opportunity for testimony and service. The city sat on a mountain pass
which served as a doorway to the Anatolian hill country, and those who are of
the synagogue of Satan are probably unbelieving Jews or Judaizers.
What
about your church?
He that hath an ear,
let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
The
Church at Laodicea
(Rev.3:14):
The
name Laodicea means
[ People Ruling ] this church represents the unbelieving,
materialistic saints
This
church is liken to
lukewarm water / being worthless; Yahshua says that He will
spew them out or rejects them from His company.
Laodicea was famous for its wealth, its bankers, its medical schools,
its popular eye salves and its textile industry.
Yahshua said that spiritually the people of
the church are poor, blind and naked.
What
about your church?
He that hath an ear,
let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
The
representation / reflections of these churches above that Yahshua spoke of is
very much alive today, and have even gotten worse than the actual ones the days
when Yahshua Messiah walked the earth.
Unfortunately
the masses of people are all drunk from the false teachings of the religious
leaders who have twisted the word of God for their selfish financial gain. But,
judgment and exposure is now at the doors of those religious leaders who have built
the empires / dynasty from such practices.
