Blessed is the Nation

Ps.33: 12.  Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.

This word blessed in the Hebrew is: 'esher, eh'-sher; which means Happy / happiness; and is interpreted / translated empowered to prosper.

Empowered to prosper is the nation whose God ('elohiym, el-o-heem') is the Lord (Yahweh); and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.

The mere existence of the Israel the nation, instilled fear and envy in other nations; because of the God they served and worship. Whenever Israel turned its back to God and walked in disobedience to His commandments, they became vulnerable to other nations and the attacks of the devil.

The Bahamas can be liken to Israel as we are the envy of the entire world; this nation (The Bahamas) has been founded upon Godly principles. Other nations saw and came to understand that the Bahamas is a blessed nation and they’re travelling from far and wide to partake in the blessings of the Bahamas.

Like the children of Israel, we; Bahamians have allowed and accepted the customs and foreign gods of the nations that we’ve welcomed and cut covenant with.  Throughout the history of Israel, God warned the children of Israel not to make covenant with their surrounding nations and not to go after other gods / their gods ( Exodus.20:3 – Hosea.3:1).

Here we are today, the Bahamas; despite all of God’s blessings upon this nation, our educated, spiritually blind / dead leaders went ahead and made many covenants / treaties with other nations and organizations that adhere not to principles and commands of God.  For financial gain and favors from these nations and organizations we’ve chosen to compromise our Godly principles, and accept the gods and customs of various nations.

As a nation, our leaders (Political & Church) has failed miserably in leading / directing, and being the example for the people to follow in regards to faithfully obeying the word of God.  The love of money has blindly driven our leaders into covenant relationship with other nations and organizations that care not for the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

Watch this!

Yahweh warned the children of Israel against doing exactly that which we (The Bahamas) have done and is yet now doing as a nation; signing treaties and making covenant with nations that doesn’t worship him.

Deut.6: 14.  Ye shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the people which are round about you;

: 15.  (For the LORD thy God is a jealous God among you) lest the anger of the LORD thy God be kindled against thee, and destroy thee from off the face of the earth.

Think it not strange that as a so-called Christian nation (The Bahamas), our crime and murder rate is at an all time high and increases every year; as our young men / male seed are being wiped from the face of the earth everyday via murders and incarceration.

As beautiful as the Bahamas might be ( Beaches, Sun, Sand and Sea) our land is very sick, the murders and other serious crimes speaks clearly of the same; meanwhile, our arrogant leaders parades around as if everything is alright.

The healing for our sick land / Nation is as such: (2Chron.7: 14.  If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land).

It’s not as if we (Bahamians) don’t know what to do; it’s not as if we’ve never heard of the one true God, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Yet, instead of humbling ourselves; we (especially leadership) would continually walk and operate in the spirit of pride and arrogance.  As you’re reading this article, it’s time for you; each of us to sincerely make the following declaration as Joshua did.

“Joshua.24: 15.  And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”

The Bahamas is truly a blessed land; the criterion for participating in the God ordained / generation lasting, blessings of our land is as follows.   Isa.1: 19.  If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:

Be willing and obedient to God’s word / commandments and his blessings will literally run you down and overtake you.  No religion, no hype, just an obedient relationship with Father Yahweh.
