Lots of Cowboys, Few Shepherds

If you’re familiar with Western / Cowboy Movies you would know that when the cowboys are taking their cattle from one state to another; this process is called “A Cattle Drive”.  Many dynamics takes place in this process to get the cattle moving such as (1) Lot’s of shouting by the cowboys, (2) Gun firing into the air, etc.

Likewise, if you’ve ever seen movies where herds of sheep are involved the moving process is totally different from that of a cattle drive. There is no loud shouting or gun firing as the shepherds skillfully and quietly leads the way and based upon the size of the herd; at times there maybe a sheep dog or two to help.

Watch this !

In the animal kingdom by their nature sheep’s are known to be; one of the dumbest animals.  As a result of the man’s fall and due to our sin nature, here’s how the word of God describes us.
Isa.53:6.  All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

King David, due to his relationship with Yahweh had a working / understanding revelation of the shepherd / sheep concept, here’s what he said.

Ps.23: 1. The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

: 2.  He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

: 3.  He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

A good shepherd is one who lovingly cares and provides for the sheep that he’s leading to green pastures. This shepherd doesn’t fleece nor does he abuse the sheep as many of the so-called Pastors, Shepherds / Religious leaders of today are doing.

The organized religions of man has filled church leadership with cowboys that are driving and mercilessly fleecing the sheepfold, in Jesus‘ name.
There is not a year / season that goes by when a religious group isn’t having their annual conferences, seminars, revival, etc; where the mass merchandising of products are being sold.

At times the naïve sheepfold / congregation (gathering) are compelled / driven to purchase products,  e.g. book, cd’s tapes, videos, etc; to help ensure that they’re connected with the religious leaders and are inline with what God is doing.

This cowboy driving style church leadership is so prevalent and being methodically carried out in the religious realm; one would come under intense fire / backlash to talk about and expose this practice.  Many religious leaders have and are yet building their empires through manipulation / witchcraft, as they skillfully uses and twist the word of God to accomplish their mission; thereby financially abusing and taking advantage of God‘s sheepfold.

But the day of judgment is at hand; for God is exposing from the greatest to the least of these well established,  religious leaders (cowboys / wolves).

Watch this!

NLT:
Jer.23:1. "I will send disaster upon the leaders of my people--the shepherds of my sheep--for they have destroyed and scattered the very ones they were expected to care for," says the LORD.

NASB:
Jer.23:1.  "Woe to the shepherds who are destroying and scattering the sheep of My pasture!" declares the LORD.

KJV:
Jer.23:1. Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith the LORD.

The Message:
Jer.23:1. “Doom to the shepherd - leaders who butcher and scatter my sheep!” God’s Decree.

God takes it personal whenever His people are being abused and mistreated especially by those who sits in the seat of authority of them.

One of the greatest responsibilities that a man can have other than being a husband, and a father; is that of being called by God to pastor a congregation.  Despite the waywardness of a congregation / sheepfold; God anoints the pastor with a gracing to lead that congregation to green pastures.

Here’s what Psalms.23: doesn’t say:
“: 2. The sheep maketh the shepherd to lie down in green pastures: or the sheep leadeth the shepherd beside the still waters.

Some religious leaders (Pastors, Apostles, Bishops, Doctors, etc;) are committing criminal acts both spiritually and naturally in the sight of God.  As they’re skillfully abusing their congregation / sheepfold who facilitates the financial means en-route to their green pastures and still waters; meanwhile 95% of the naïve congregation remains struggling to make ends meet.

Have you ever heard twisted religious sayings such as: “If you want the anointing that’s upon my life, you’ve got to sow into my life”   I say, that’s foolishness.

As a child of God you have the rights to inspect the fruit of church leadership to verify whether you’re being led by a shepherd or being driven by a cowboy.
