The Bahamas will join forces with countries globally in commemoration of Parkinson Awareness Month during the month of April, and Kingdor has planned several activities to focus the attention on this dreadful condition, one of which is the signature Gala Ball, to be held at the Melia Nassau Beach Resort, Cable Beach, on Saturday April 6, 2019.

The theme for the occasion is, “Start A Conversation,” which suggests that we need to tell the story regarding Parkinson’s disease and how it affects the Parkinsonian. I

Mr. Robert's contributions over the years to the community of Grand Bahama has evolved into a legacy.  His signature cigar and famous "Come on Down" will long be remembered.  In 2009 Mr. Robert's was the recipient of The Grand Bahama Chamber of Commerce Business Person of the Year Award...

The Grand Bahama Chamber of Commerce (GBCC) will officially welcome the 2019 Executive Board at their Annual Installation Ceremony on Friday, January 18th, at the Grand Lucayan Resort in Freeport.  Minister of Finance, Hon. K. Peter Turnquest, Deputy Prime Minister of The Commonwealth of The Bahamas, and former President of The Grand Bahama Chamber of Commerce will be the guest speaker and will help induct the board.

This means that it’s illegal to land, purchase or sell Nassau Grouper from December 1st to February 28th.

The Rotary Club of East Nassau (RCEN) is the first major civic organization in The Bahamas to partner with local technology company Aliv on the company’s newly launched fundraising website, Together.


The first initiative of its kind in The Bahamas, Together is designed to improve fundraising capabilities by providing a secure online payment option while putting donors at ease by ensuring the credibility of organizations and their causes. Together will be used to facilitate RCEN’s silent auction which will raise funds for tertiary education scholarships.

On Thursday, October 18, 2018, the Chief Operating Officer of The Bahamas International Securities Exchange (BISX), Mr. Holland Grant was asked to give a speech to members of Rotary Club of Nassau Sunrise at their monthly meeting. Mr. Grant spoke about the history of BISX, the current state of the market and the future of Bahamian Capital Markets. Mr. Grant commented, “It was a pleasure to have an informed discussion with this group which allowed all of us a chance to discuss ideas on the future of the Bahamian capital markets.  The capital markets are the result of the efforts of regulators, investors and companies, the Rotary Sunrise Membership included persons from all of these areas, leading to a dynamic conversation.”

It is no longer seen as a rebellious act, the way it was a few decades ago.” For a trio of young activists from the island of Eleuthera this couldn’t be truer. Franchesca Hanna, 16, Kristman Moss, 15 and Wadainya Weinburger – all students of the Central Eleuthera High School recently gave their strong endorsement of, and lent their voices to, the Campaign to Save Lighthouse Point joining their adult counterparts from the One Eleuthera Foundation and the Bahamas National Trust on a media tour to raise awareness about the need for sustainable – and not commercial development of the area...
