A New President for the Rotary Club of South East Nassau -

Nassau, The Bahamas - “Be A Gift To The World” was the Rotary
International theme for 2015-2016, and it was successfully represented
by the Rotary Club of South East Nassau (RCSEN), resulting with a gold
award from Rotary International and a platinum award from Rotary
District 7020. The club’s Early Act group at Columbus Primary were also
winners for a “best song and video” about “Bullying.”
Every year
towards the end of June or early July, Rotary clubs around the world
install new presidents at a changeover event. The RCSEN recently held
theirs on July 7, 2016 where outgoing president, Dr. Bridgette Rolle
presented awards and pinned incoming president, Lillian Russell, a
lawyer and financial services professional...

Rotary Club of East Nassau welcomes new directors -

Nassau, The Bahamas — The Rotary Club of East Nassau (RCEN) welcomes the
new Board of Directors for the 2016-2017 year. At the western-themed
Changeover Party, the gavel was passed from Immediate Past President
Jason Robertson to Diane de Cardenas, the third female President of
RCEN. While sporting their best denim and enjoying a bbq dinner, the
crowd applauded the numerous accomplishments of the previous President
and Board of Directors. The new administration will continue the Club's
support of literacy, feeding programs, greater access to youth sports,
and health programs in addition to other areas where they can make a
positive difference in peoples lives.

Rotary Club of Old Fort Installs New President and Directors -

Nassau, Bahamas – The Rotary Club of Old Fort
(RCOF) has installed a new administration with lawyer and banker,
Tameika Watson becoming its first female president. She will serve for
the rotary year 2016-2017.
The new administration will focus on
selfless service in its surrounding community by continuing the Club’s
work with Great Commission Ministries. In the last quarter of the Rotary
year 2015-2016, RCOF funded and installed two outdoor showering
systems. In this new Rotary year, RCOF will seek to establish new
partnerships to further its community service outreach programmes, while
continuing to collaborate with The Children’s Emergency Hostel, Gambier
Primary School, S.H.A.R.E. (at the Lyford Cay School) and The Bahamas

Tourism Minister Obie Wilchcombe Welcomes Rotarians -

NASSAU, The Bahamas - Minister of Tourism the Hon. Obie Wilchcombe,
pictured at the podium, welcomed a large group of Rotarians from The
Bahamas and countries around the world, at a luncheon at Atlantis
recently. Visiting The Bahamas was Rotary International President R. N.
Ravindran. There are 400 Rotary service club members in The Bahamas,
since the organization got started in Nassau as Rotary Club of Nassau in
1962.

Nassau, Bahamas - The following is a speech by Chief Justice Sir
Michael Barnett to the Rotary Club Of East Nassau on the Gender Equality
Bills currently before the electorate, delivered on 10th of May 2016:
Parliament has now passed with the requisite three fourths majority
four Bills which seek to amend the Constitution of The Bahamas.
Three
of the Bills seek to achieve the equal treatment of both men and women
in the acquisition of citizenship by their children and their spouses.
The fourth Bill seeks to amend Article 26 by including the word “sex” in
Article 26(3) which defines the expression “discriminatory” in the
freedom from discrimination provision contained in the Constitution...

Governor Felix Stubbs joined Rotary Road to Peace committee members and

Friday evening, Caribbean Pavement Solutions demonstrated an incredible
act of amazing corporate charitable giving by donating $18,000.00 to the
charities of its first annual The Dollar That Could Project in its
cheque presentation cocktail reception.
In August 2015, CPS
launched its four month campaign which sought to raise funds through a
dollar drive campaign for in aid of The Grand Bahama Humane Society,

Centre are on their way to learning a skill and becoming empowered - thanks to

The club recently made presentations of beauty supplies to
the women who are enrolled in the 15-week natural hair styling program at The

Rotary Club of Old Fort (RCOF) is the newest Rotary club in The Bahamas.
RCOF is the newest club in the Rotary Bahamas family as well as the
Rotary District 7020 family. This district comprises 10 countries and 14
islands in the northern Caribbean including Turks and Caicos, Haiti,
Jamaica, The Cayman Islands, The U.S. Virgin Islands, British Virgin
Islands, Anguilla, and islands in the French Antilles and Netherlands
Antilles. The club, which was chartered in May, celebrated its highly
