The Bahamas - SkyBahamas Airlines has declared Wednesday January 20, 2010 to be
Haiti Day at SkyBahamas.
For every round-trip ticket that is
purchased and travelled on this day, SkyBahamas will donate
$5 to the relief efforts in Haiti.
This is for Wednesday Jan. 20th only.
As you are probably aware, SkyBahamas has led the way from the
airline side in delivering on our commitment to providing an
expeditious response to the plight of our neighbours. We have already
flown two humanitarian flights, and expect to fly at least two
additional flights into Haiti. We are partnering with other religious,
media and charitable organizations to make a difference!

SkyBahamas seeks maintenance certification - Jan 6, 2010 - 1:30:57 PM

Saab 340A operator SkyBahamas
is preparing to launch a maintenance, repair and overhaul subsidiary,
SkyBahamas Maintenance, to perform all maintenance in-house rather than
outsourcing the work.
Maintenance directors at the Nassau-based
carrier are working on Part 145 certification, carrier CEO Randy Butler
tells ATI, and SkyBahamas would like to secure approval by June or
July. While the airline performs its own line maintenance, heavy maintenance is outsourced to Canadian and US firms, Butler says.
The
carrier is also awaiting regulatory approval from the government of
Haiti to connect Marsh Harbour with Cap Haitien...

took an inaugural flight to Turks and Caicos Islands.

persons who are travel, business, and media partners were invited to
join SkyBahamas management on a two-hour flight to sight-see on the
beautiful city of Providenciales. While there the group had lunch at
Seven Stars resort where CEO and Captain Randy Butler, SkyBahamas and Kevin

Miss Universe Contestants Travel SkyBahamas Airlines Ltd. to Bimini - Aug 18, 2009 - 3:04:47 PM
The Bahamas - On August 8th, some of the Miss Universe contestants from countries all over the world, traveled aboard SkyBahamas Airlines Ltd. to “work a little and play a little” in some of the most beautiful islands of the Bahamas.
On Saturday, August 8, the ladies traveled to the lovely island of Bimini. Once they arrive, the contestants started their day with a tour of Ansil’s Boat House, which is named after the owner, Mr. Ansil Saunders. Mr. Saunders is widely known for his hand-crafted and award-winning bone fishing boat called “The Bimini Bonefisher”. The ladies were also scheduled to visit the Bimini Bay Resort, and the Bimini Sands Marina to see Ponce de Leon’s Fountain of Youth. To conclude their Bimini trip, the ladies relaxed and enjoyed the sounds of the charity cover band known as, “Band From TV”...

What began as a rainy morning, brightened into as a successful, sunny one for locals in New Bight, Cat Island yesterday!
As a spacious 33 seater, SkyBahamas aircraft touched down at the New Bight Airport in Cat Island, a group of students from local schools, community leaders and a few onlookers welcomed the plane with loud and exciting cheers yesterday morning.
The Inaugural Flight was the first flight to commence new service into the island. As passengers disembarked the aircraft, they were greeted on the red carpet by a host of island officials and community leaders.
Some of which included, Mr. Charles King, Sr. Island Administrator, Mr. Alfred Daniels, Deputy Chief Councilor, Ms. Beverly Thacker, Ministry of Education Superintendant, and Pamela Poitier, from Ministry of Tourism...

 Nassau, Bahamas - Now making good on their promise to bring daily flights into Cat Island, SkyBahamas Airlines Ltd., the Bahamian Regional Airline, will be launching the first of its daily flights into New Bight, Cat Island on Tuesday, May 19, 2009!
In March of this year, the airline took a group of 19 persons to New Bight and held a small ceremony at the Old Bight Gospel Chapel Mission Home, which cares for 13 children.
It was then, that SkyBahamas Airlines announced their future plans to begin daily services into New Bight, Cat Island.
SkyBahamas also adopted the home and celebrated with the children by providing a pizza party and supplying the home with donations of groceries and an ongoing commitment of monetary donations...
