said LIS Year 4 Teacher Sharron Waterhouse. She escorted 16 students
along with three parent chaperones who were guided through the plant by
Vaughn Cartwright, Shift Supervisor and Edrondo Thompson, Operator
Trainee.“It is always a great experience when the school students come
by for tours of the plant. We are able to provide them with a little
bit of the knowledge gained from years of experience here at the plant"

Freeport, Grand Bahama - On Friday, December 4th dozens of
people turned up at the
annual Festival Noel to support The Bahamas
National Trust . Festival Noel, held every year, gives Island residents
the opportunity to sample wines from Bristol Cellars, and beer from Bahamian Brewery
Company as well as other local restaurants & caterers.
With the wine selections surpassing lasts years by far, guests seemed
pleased with the planning and organization of the highly anticipated
night.
Although the night was balmy, supporters enjoyed live entertainment and
delectable cuisine from restaurants such as Le Med, Shenanigans,
Lucianos, Freeport High catering department, Social Butterfly Catering, Island Java, and others.
Cornwall, England - Davonne
Bethel of Freeport, Bahamas, graduated November 27th with full honours from the
Royal British Navy’s Lead Military Training School, HMS Raleigh in Cornwall,
England.
Bethel, now 23, was born in Freeport and raised in the local Grand Bahama Children’s Home for a period of time before joining the family of Richard and Patricia
Hobbs. Mr. and Mrs. Hobbs, residents of The Bahamas since 1990,
stated that “Davonne has always had a sense of structure in his life,
from the respected reinforcement of the Children’s Home, to the
supporting strength of our entire family, and now with the ongoing
discipline of the Royal Navy.”
Bethel completed his high
school education in The Bahamas and Canada. The family attended the
induction ceremonies and were proud to note that “Davonne was elected
as head of the unit by his commanding officers and fellow recruits. He
was also given the Ganges Award as leader of the class that excelled in
all phases of training...

is a new ministry that was launched on Nov 1st, 2009 by Min. Simeon Outten. On Sunday,
December 6th, the ministry had its first Baptismal service on Williams
Town Beach. Thirteen candidates were baptized.

School male teachers, will end their MOVEMBER fundraiser. "It was a
great effort by the male teachers to grow their mustaches and keep them
all month no matter how itchy or ridiculous they looked," noted Phillip
McCormick, LIS History Teacher. Thanks to many generous friends and
family these men will make a contribution to the Cancer Association of
Grand Bahama to help men in their community with health issues. The LIS
teachers are hoping next year they will be able to get a lot more men

people, the Grand Bahama Torchbearers made a donation to the Grand
Bahama Aids Awareness Committee when
they made a plea for financial assistance.

style along with alumni, teachers,and administration over the weekend of November 13th to 15th, 2009. The school opened in 1969.
On
November 13th, the student donned in commemorative t-shirts went on a
Motorcade which ended back at the school where they all enjoyed a
Family Fun Night featuring food and drinks on sale, bouncy castle, games and fun.
On
November 14th they held
'Dinner Under The Stars'. Sunland School Honoree for the evening was Mrs. Della Thomas and the school also recognized past
principals and teachers who have served in structuring the fine
