labyrinth-ANIM.gif
Freeport, The Bahamas - A number of persons turned out this past Sunday morning, March 20, at the Garden of the Groves for the Labyrinth walk in prayerful meditation.

According to Ms. Barbara Chester as she addressed the participants just before they walked, the meditation was on love to share with others, honouring those who survived the devastation in Japan and other lands in the Pacific.

She told the gathering, “Today, the Spring Equinox has been appropriately chosen for special Prayer Walks to take place on all Labyrinths around the World..."

Marjoke’s Show was entitled, Around the World in Song and Dance.  It was exactly that.   We were taken on a journey through America, Mexico, Spain, France, Italy, Holland and even to India where we were enthralled by a mystical performance of Bollywood by the Bahamas Dance Theatre...

Bahamas caves featured in National Geographic - Jul 19, 2010 - 11:06:30 AM

CavesAbacoSM.jpg
(National Geographic) The blue holes of the Bahamas yield a scientific trove that may even shed light on life beyond Earth. If only they weren’t so dangerous to explore.

We sink into Stargate, sweeping the void with our dive lights. Fifty feet from the surface looms a pale haze, less smoky than fibrous, like a silvery net of faint, swirling cobwebs hovering motionless in the darkness. It's a layer of hydrogen sulfide, a toxic gas created by bacterial colonies and decaying organic matter. Divers entering the gas may experience itching skin, tingling, or dizziness; some smell rotten eggs as it penetrates their skin and metabolizes through their lungs. The gas density in Stargate is relatively low, but I'm struck by a wave of nausea as we descend. I glance at my guide, Brian Kakuk—one of the world's foremost cave divers. He appears unfazed...

The Deneki Andros South fishing lodge is a sweet place to catch bonefish - Jun 8, 2010 - 2:15:46 PM
bonefish1sm.jpg
Boats.com writes: The view of South Andros Island from space shows how the green mangrove vegetation is separated from the various shades of ocean blue by a thin band of sheer white. These are the 100s of square miles of tidal flats surrounding the island, one of the best places in the Bahamas, and therefore the world, to hook a bonefish. The Andros South lodge is a fantastic place to stay and chase them.

Located in Kemps Bay about 10 minutes south of the Congo Town air strip, Andros South lodge is a compound of a few light blue single-story buildings and sandy footpaths right on the water. It has 10 single occupancy rooms, so each angler who signs up gets his own digs. The rooms themselves are spartan: a queen bed, a doorless hanging closet, a wall-mounted air conditioning unit, and a bathroom with a standup shower. There are locks on the doors but they are unnecessary...

'Moods at Twilight' closes the Labyrinth Garden Theatre Season - Jun 3, 2010 - 10:18:33 AM

00animateDSC01209.gif
Freeport, Bahamas - Sunday evening, 30th of May, all enjoyed a warm and wonderful finale to the Labyrinth Garden Theatre Season with the presentation "Moods at Twilight".

In welcoming a truly appreciative audience (ranging from 8 weeks to 80 years...and three theatre-going dogs!) Barbara Chester reminded everyone that the Labyrinth was not yet two years old but was already occupying an important place in the community where it was proving  to be a great blessing. She commented that, as a beautiful gathering place of pure energy in the lovely Garden of the Groves it has provided a unique venue for our young up-and-coming entertainers of the future; many of whom we were delighted to see that night.  Barbara remarked how great it was to see more of the community understanding and appreciating the Spirit of the Labyrinth and all it has to offer!
