Freeport,
Bahamas - The big Beaver Moon on Saturday evening lit up the Grand
Bahama Labyrinth for a celebration of life in song and dance.
Joie
de Vivre was a perfect way of opening the Labyrinth Garden Theatre
Season. It showcased many of our talented friends, blended together for
our enjoyment by two of the Island’s most loved and respected ladies,
Ivy Elden and Gloria McGlone
Ivy Eldon opened the show with a beautiful monologue on La Joie de Vivre...
Freeport, Bahamas - The Grand Bahama
Labyrinth Garden Theatre Season is
opening on
Saturday 20th November with, once again (for the third year!)
another colourful Elden-McGlone production!
Each of these shows seems to top the last, so I am
sure we are looking forward to an evening that really lives up to its
name
Joie de Vivre! A celebration of LIFE and of Living!
Your favourite voices and dancers, and a few new
talented members of our great community will be bringing song and
dance, light and love into our lives and enhancing our spirits as we
gather under the moon in the magical Labyrinth Garden at the Garden of
the Groves...
Barbara Chester, Founder of the Labyrinth invites those who
feel drawn to our simple gathering next week, to come to the Labyrinth
in the Garden of the Groves just before 11am when we will silently
'Remember them', Pray and Meditate on Love and Peace in our World.
Freeport, Bahamas -
Sunday evening, 30th of May, all enjoyed a warm and wonderful finale to
the Labyrinth Garden Theatre Season with the presentation "Moods at
Twilight".
In
welcoming a truly appreciative audience (ranging from 8 weeks to
80 years...and three theatre-going dogs!) Barbara Chester reminded
everyone that the Labyrinth was not yet two years old but was already
occupying an important place in the community where it was proving to
be a great blessing. She commented that, as a beautiful gathering place
of pure energy in the lovely Garden of the Groves it has provided
a unique venue for our young up-and-coming entertainers of the future;
many of whom we were delighted to see that night. Barbara remarked how
great it was to see more of the community understanding and appreciating
the Spirit of the Labyrinth and all it has to offer!

Freeport, Bahamas - It was good to see
most of the entrants together with members of
their families and other supporters at the charming little prize giving
ceremony on the Labyrinth on Friday 23rd April, also Shakespeare's
birthday!
Our young photographers once again presented the judges with
difficult choices in selecting this year's winners. Consideration was
given to all aspects of art, design, form,
structure, lighting and presentation; in addition to other criteria
and this year included an appropriate Shakespearean quotation to suit
each entry. Some quotations were exceptionally well chosen and prompted
the judges to make an additional award for exceptionally appropriate
quotations...
AND each photo must be accompanied with a quote from Shakespeare as the prizes will be given out on Shakespeare's birthday on April 23th on the Labyrinth.
Entry forms are at the Garden gate or attached below this article on TheBahamasWeekly.com...
Freeport, Bahamas - Erika Gates,

writes, "It was an enormous honour and with great joy that I was able
to
follow my path and create a Labyrinth in the Garden of the Groves. I
have been very blessed with enormous loving guidance from my
Creator, help and support from my friends and fellow members of our
Community and especially from my dear friend Erika Gates , in whose
Gardens our Labyrinth has her home..."

dancing, poetry monologues, and a slide show of shelter animals which
was beautifully accompanied by Marjoke Twiest’s rendition of “In

Grand Bahama Labyrinth Peace Walk held at the Grand Bahama Labyrinth for Haiti - Jan 26, 2010 - 1:14:36 AM
Freeport, Bahamas -On January 22nd Labyrinth walks were being conducted all over
the world in response to this human suffering following the earthquakes
in Haiti. There are reports of walks from the Pacific Northwest, to
the mid west, to St. Croix, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa and our
own Grand Bahama. Indeed, the labyrinth is enfolding the World in her
skirts of peace, comfort and compassion.
We held our Walk yesterday in honour of Haiti on our Sacred Path in the
Garden of the Groves. The Labyrinth was surrounded by low level solar
lights and tiki
torches set in the jasmine.
Freeport, Bahamas - On
Friday, January
22, 2010 an

Freeport, Grand Bahama - Despite cool weather conditions and a wind blown Christmas tree, many came out to enjoy caroling around the Grand Bahama Labyrinth on Saturday, December 19th.
The following is a message from Barbara Chester:
We righted the tree which was out of her pot
lying sadly at the centre of the Labyrinth with some lost ornaments and
a broken star! With Darren's help, I had her back in place by early
afternoon and, as you will see from the photos, looking bright and
sparkly once again.
Gloria McGlone was her usual fabulous self. She
brought many of her Carollers (from the 'Many Moods of Christmas'
production)...
Grand Bahama, Bahamas - Join us on
Saturday, December 19th for the annual
Christmas Caroling Party at the Grand Bahama Labyrinth from 4 to 5pm
Taste mulled wine and minced pies. Families are encouraged to bring a blanket to sit upon.
We would remind you all that the Path of the Labyrinth is a spiritual tool for healing and peace.
It represents a personal journey to our Creator, and a symbolic destination path...
