He is Faithful Still - Mar 22, 2010 - 8:06:59 AM
1John.1:9. If we
confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive
us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
As you
read this article, please let me make this emphatically clear that the
(he) of whom the above passage of scripture refers to is not your
religious: Bishops, Doctors, Apostles, Pastors, Mohammed, Buda, etc; but
rather (He) is none other than ('elyown,
el-yone') the most high God. Notwithstanding that the confessing of
our sins to one another; a trust worthy person, is an open
acknowledgment before God of our transgression / violation to His
commands.
This form of confession is one of the keys that opens
the doors in the supernatural where tremendous power is made available
through prayer...

How Great is our God? - Mar 17, 2010 - 8:33:44 AM
There is no doubt
that these are tough, trying times for many Bahamians;
as people are being pressed on every side. It’s times such as this
that I dare to ask the question “What do you do, when pressure presses
you?”
The saint of Old use to sing the song (Be very sure, your
anchor holds). If there is ever a time that one needs to be sure of his
or her anchor’s stability, that time is now. The
global economic downturn somewhat helped in locating where many of us
are spiritually; as even some religious leaders are crying about the
decline in the church’s tithes and offering. How sad, but then again
that’s religion for ya:
What we’re facing as a nation today can be
liken to the various types of famines which took place in what we call
“the bible days...”

A Good Man - Mar 10, 2010 - 2:10:09 PM
Prov.13: 22. A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's
children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just.
In
the Hebrew this word Good is: towb, tobe; which has several meanings
such as
(1) bountiful, (2) prosperity or prosperous, and (3) wealthy.
Now,
before we go any further. Please do me this favor; and take off your
religious hat so that we can look at the above passage of scripture
through the eyes of the Spirit, and not through the eyes of a
denominational / religious view. I can assure you that God won’t be
angry at you; as a matter of fact He would be very proud of you for
allowing the Holy Spirit to enlighten you...

Empowerment - Mar 1, 2010 - 4:18:05 PM
As I’ve stated before; we’ve perfected the art of riding the waves of
words without dissecting and understanding fully the meaning thereof.
Therefore no matter how we try to eloquently politicize or spiritualize
a word; the scripture (Hosea.4:6) always meets us at the front door as
our ignorance shines forth like the morning sun.
The
national word of today is Empowerment. It seems as if no matter what
arena or gathering one goes into; the word empowerment is somewhat the
thrust of the conference or meeting. As the scriptures are being
fulfilled everyday before our eyes; people from all walks of life can
be heard crying out in various ways for spiritual, emotional,
financial, or psychological help, yet to no avail...

The Blessing - Part 2 - Feb 23, 2010 - 6:19:03 PM
The foundational scripture for this series of articles on (The Blessing) is:
Prov.10: 22. The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.
Here’s
where Part.1, of this series ended as we’ve identified the blessing,
and its purpose. Gen.12:1. Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee
out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house,
unto a land that I will show thee:
: 2. And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:

The Blessing, What is it ? - Feb 17, 2010 - 12:14:23 PM
How
many times have you heard a member of a congregation or a religious
leader gets up a testifies about the blessing of God upon their lives,
as they’ve recently became the recipient of a new car, a new home or a
sum of money; and uses the above passage of scripture to validate their
claim?
Then six months to a year later, a number of sorrows
evolves within what they’ve once called God’s blessings, i.e. (1)
Financially unable to properly service and maintain the car, (2) The
bank repossesses the car, (3) The bank forecloses on the new home, and
(4) Start avoiding / ducking people and sorely complaining of folks
coming to borrow money or ask for financial assistance. How quickly
have these persons forgotten the “and he added no sorrow with it” part
of their testimony?

The spirit of Valentine - Feb 13, 2010 - 8:22:01 AM
The spirit, concept and celebration of Valentine’s Day is based upon
love in remembrance of a priest name Valentine; who came to defend
marriage and love in Rome during the rule of Emperor Claudius II.
The
Emperor was having difficulties in getting soldiers to join his
military leagues. He believed that the reason was that roman men did
not want to leave their loves or families. As a result, Claudius
cancelled all marriages and engagements in Rome.
This
was when a priest Valentine came to defend love in the empire.
Valentine began to secretly marry couples despite the emperors orders.
When Emperor Claudius was informed of these ceremonies Valentine was
sent to prison where he remained until his death on February 14 in the
year 270...

Bullets of Love - Feb 3, 2010 - 1:36:29 PM
A few weeks ago I attended a Saturday Sabbath worship service at The
Capstone Ministries, where Pastor Micklyn Seymour presides. During
this service Father Yahweh spoke through one of his servants namely Ms.
Tanya Leary who blessed the congregation with some inspirational words
of encouragement titled (Bullets of Love).
In listening to Ms.
Leary speak about Bullets of Love verses the bullets / ammunitions of
destruction that are used in various firearms to inflict injury and in
most cases death unto its victims throughout the length and breath of
the Bahamas. Based upon the trend that we’re heading as a nation, I’m
inclined to write from view the point spoke of last Sabbath “Bullets of
Love” by Ms. Leary...

A No Nonsense Leader - Jan 14, 2010 - 6:58:48 PM
It was only a matter of God’s timing that the Bahamas would begin to see and experience true leadership.
The
appointment of Mr. Greenslade as The Commissioner of Police and Mr.
Marvin Dames as Deputy Commissioner and the out-of-the box thinking
team of senior officers that leads the force; will no doubt throw a
monkey wrench in the criminal’s agenda.
Now,
please let me make this emphatically clear; that Mr. Greenslade, Mr.
Dames and their team of officers don’t have a magic bullet that will
prevent criminal acts from taking place in this country. But what this
new leadership brings to the Royal Bahamas Police Force is something
that was lacking for many, many years; and that’s visionary leadership...

God wants you to Prosper! - Jan 5, 2010 - 10:48:56 PM
Ps.35:27. Let them shout for
joy, and be glad that favor my righteous cause: yea, let them say
continually, Let the Lord be magnified which hat pleasure in the
prosperity of his servants.
It’s time out for us as sons and daughters of Yahweh, to stop living as
children of el-cheap-O and start living as children of El-Elyon, the
Most High God.
Contrary to popular beliefs due to the fact that some dogs / wolves,
dressed in sheep clothing has crept into church leadership and have
caused the body of Yahshua Messiah to suffer great affliction as a
result of their pursuit and greed for financial gain. It is and will
forever be Yahweh’s will for His people to prosper...

New Year, New Rules! - Dec 30, 2009 - 4:07:26 PM
It is customary for leaders (especially religious leaders) to make
their presence felt and known by extending their New Year greetings to
the nation. Well, if you don’t know by now; you will find out real
quickly that I am not a religious leader or person; and therefore I’m
free to speak as the Holy Spirit leads me and will never sugar coat
what needs to be said.
Listen,
as a nation we could sing, dance and shout Happy New Year all we want;
but if we refused to be transformed by the renewing of our minds, we
are just wasting our time in singing, dancing and shouting.
Throughout
the years many questions have been asked as to “Our identity” as a
nation, reasons being is that we’re constantly conforming to every
rules and regulations that any international body (World Systems) hands
down...

Who's Report? - Dec 24, 2009 - 7:58:42 AM
Happy New Year: Isa.53:1. Who hath believed our report? And to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?
Whose
report are you going to believe this year? For the past few years you
have believed and depended upon the reports of everybody else
concerning your future; except the report of the Lord.
The easiest or best way to know and
understand the report of the Lord for one’s life; is for that person to
seek God themselves. As we embarks upon this New Year 2010, it’s of
the utmost importance that you decide whose report you’re going to
believe; otherwise the negative experiences and setbacks of 2009 will
accompany you throughout 2010...

The Myth of Christmas and the Tree - Dec 21, 2009 - 10:30:50 AM
The purpose
of this article is to shed a little light
of where we as a people and how we got here. A study
of God’s word, not just the reading; but a study would clearly show that some
of
the religious traditions we’ve held onto over the years has absolutely
nothing to do with Father Yahweh and his Son, Yeshuwa Messiah.
How can this be? I’m glad you asked.
Throughout the Old Testaments we see where God admonished the children
of God (Deut.12:29-32; 18:9-14).
Come, let’s talk about your sacred cow:
Christmas and the Tree...

Your Gift - Dec 16, 2009 - 5:32:23 PM
Just in case or in the event that some of you are upset with and wants
to stone me for sharing some truths in last week’s article, that
doesn’t line up with what you’ve been taught and now believe concerning
your favorite holiday namely; Christmas and your expensive Christmas
tree.
Well,
for the purpose of this exercise can I humbly ask you to put down your
religious stones for a few minutes and let’s talk about your gifts and
the giving thereof; after which if you choose to you can proceed with
the casting of your stones.
And just to show you that I’m not the Grinch trying to steal your Christmas: Here’s what I have to say to you “Merry Christmas”...

Where are the Godly Leaders? - Dec 8, 2009 - 8:40:52 PM
As this year comes to a close and we embark upon a New Year, it’s only
fitting that I should ask the question “Where are the Leaders?”
I do
know that we (Bahamians) are very religious and spiritually spooky;
insomuch that if Yeshuwa Messiah (a.k.a. Jesus the Christ) himself was
walking the streets throughout the Bahamas, he would be dumbfounded at
the level of religious foolishness that’s taking place in his name by
the so-called leaders.
The
high murder rate, the deterioration of the family structure and values
and the other social ill’s demands an answer to the question “Where are
the Leaders?”

Destined for Greatness - Dec 2, 2009 - 10:30:02 AM
Who told you; that you had to accept the hardship that you’re facing,
or through ignorance religiously climb the rough side of the mountain?
Don’t you know, that you have a choice in the matter as it pertains to
you living the good life; the God ordained abundant life (John.10:10)?
As we move into the New Year there are some changes that we as a people, both collectively and individually; must
make in order to tap into the reservoir of greatness that lies within us.
Here’s a few those changes: 1. Prov.3:5. Trust in the Lord with all thine heart...

It’s that time Again ! - Nov 26, 2009 - 10:53:17 PM
It’s
that time of the year “Christmas season, and the approaching New Year”
when Bahamians are most vulnerable (especially) the gullible political
and religious ones.
Here’s a hard / difficult pill for me to
swallow, but I’ve got to accept the facts for what they are; which is:
“that Bahamians, are suckers for bad treatment“. With that being the
case; the leaders of our country’s two most influential systems
(Politics & Religion) despite all of their rhetoric; will never
seek to truly empowerment the masses.
Why is this?
It’s
because the empowerment of a people by their leaders will result in the
severing of a dependency / hand-out relationship. This distorted
relationship is one of control and manipulation of which both today’s
politicians and religious leaders have come to master...

The Will of God - Nov 18, 2009 - 1:52:21 PM
As a Pastor, I’m often hearing persons while requesting prayer and
seeking spiritual guidance or advise asking questions of wanting to
know “what is the Will of God for their lives?”
Wanting to know
God’s will for one’s life, is the most important question that a human
being can ever ask. As we know there are many persons who have and are
yet sacrificing their all to climb the ladder of success; only to
discover some years later that the ladder of success in which they’ve
climbed is attached to the wrong building / vocation.
It’s
somewhat like a person taking a very long, tired some bus ride and at
the end of the journey they’ve discovered that they were on the wrong
bus...

Gangs - Nov 14, 2009 - 8:57:32 AM
Are gangs a new phenomenon? No, they’re not. Gangs are nothing new, it’s
just that our perception of the name or word “Gang” based upon the
disruptive and criminal activities carried out by various groups of
lawless young men and women. The word gang leaves a bad taste and aroma
in our society.
For from back in what we call the bible days Gangs were
around and made their presence known and in most cases they were
referred to as Sects. This information maybe of no value to you; but I
hasten to inform you that this is one of the reasons why as an
educated, religious nation we‘re forever perishing for the lack of
knowledge (Hosea.4:6).
Follow me as I highlight the natural and spiritual aspect of gangs: 1. Natural side of gangs:
