Nassau, Bahamas – The organizers of the award-winning Islands of the World Fashion Week, Mode Îles, Ltd., have announced the initial list of participants in this year’s event to be held 4^th – 8^th November at the Sheraton Nassau Beach Resort..

Leading off three days of activities in the fashion-filled air will be The Muse Model Search Competition. Twelve models representing six island nations from the region will compete for the title of Male and Female Model Muse and the opportunity to win $10,000 in cash each and become the face for Islands of the World Fashion Week over the next year.

Nassau, Bahamas - On Saturday, September 19, 2009, in the Arawak Room at the Sheraton Grand Hotel in Nassau, Mode lsles Ltd, producers of the award winning Islands of the World Fashion Week, will hold its local casting call for prospective male and female models interested in participating in this year's fashion showcase.

Castings for the fashion event will begin at 9am and run until 4pm. Models attending the casting call are required to bring along a photo portfolio (if one is available), a passport or drivers license photo II), and two change of clothing - one casual, one swimwear...

1. Recipient of the Sustainable Eco-Fashion Award was Kuumba  Designs by Queen Esther of St. Lucia; 2. Recipient of the Culture & Fashion Award was Tami B Designs by Tamiko Browne of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.; 3.Recipient of the NextGen Designer Award was also Tamiko Browne of St. Vincent and the Grenadines; 4. Seals of Excellence were awarded to Heather Jones Designs by Heather Jones of Trinidad & Tobago; Nadya  by Nadine Lurey of Indonesia; BREEZE Resort Couture by Claudia Pegus of Trinidad & Tobago; House of St. John by Jeff St. John of The Bahamas; and Harl Taylor BAG of The Bahamas..

Kevan Halls latest collection was featured at the close of Islands of the World Fashion Week on November 8th at the Atlantis on Paradise Island.

Nassau, The Bahamas - A fashion feast lasting four days was deemed a huge success by participants and guests of the inaugural Islands of the World Fashion Week, which took place from November 5th to 8th primarily at the British Colonial Hilton, as well as the Atlantis on Paradise Island. The Mode Iles Ltd team, headed by Mr. Owen Bethel are to be congratulated on putting forth a top-notch world class event.

Island countries represented were Cuba, Fiji, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, Madagascar, Barbados, St. Lucia, Jamaica, and of course The Bahamas. Three international guest designers, Peter Ingwersen of NOIR Illuminati II from Denmark, Nick Verreos of Nikolaki from the United States, and Kevan Hall also from the United States of America.

The winner of the 'Sustainable Eco-Fashion' Award was Queen Esther  ( Kuumba Designs) from St. Lucia; and Tamiko Browne ( Tami B Designs)  from St. Vincent took two awards, one for 'Culture and Fashion' and also the 'NextGen' Award.

Islands of the World Fashion Week will take place 5th - 8th November, 2008 at the historic British Colonial Hilton in Nassau and the Atlantis Resort, Paradise Island, The Bahamas. Three international guest designers, Peter Ingwersen of Noir Illuminati II from Denmark, Nick Verreos of Nikolaki from the United States, and Kevan Hall also from the United States of America, will present their collections in catwalk shows alongside 36 new and established designers from 13 island nations around the world.

Nassau, Bahamas - Mode Îles, Ltd., organizers of the Islands of the World Fashion Week, have announced that a special focus will be given at this premiere event to a unique regional product and fabric, originating within the islands, known as the West Indian Sea Island Cotton.

Owen Bethel, President of Mode Îles, Ltd. and creator of Islands of the World Fashion Week, stated "According to sources, West Indian Sea Island Cotton is the world's highest quality cotton and is grown in only a few islands within the region. It is known for its silk-like feel and texture, and because its fibers are longer than most other types of cotton it is ideal for high-end quality garments..."
