The Bahamas Chamber of Commerce and Employers Confederation, "BCCEC" elected a new executive board at their recent Annual General Meeting. The new board consists of prominent businessman, I. Chester Cooper, President & CEO of BAF Financial as Chairman; Robert Meyers of V Trade supply as Vice Chairman; Peter Goudie of PGHJR Consulting, Secretary and Hubert Edwards of the Bank of Bahamas as Treasurer. Mr. Winston Rolle will remain on in the capacity of Chief Executive Officer.

The BCCEC is the successor organisation of the recently merged Bahamas Chamber of Commerce and the Bahamas Employers Confederation. The organisation is the voice and the business community and employers..

Nassau, Bahamas - Winston Rolle, president, Bahamas Chamber of Commerce (L) toured the new container port at Arawak Cay to update his organization on the progress of the developments there. He said he enjoyed the tour, and expressed pleasure at the progress was brought up to date on what has been going on in the shipping sector these past three years and Mike informed him about the tariff charges.

Leading the tour was Mike Maura, CEO, Arawak Port Development (APD), developers, owners and operators of the facility in which 11,000 Bahamians recently acquired shares. Mr Maura briefed the Chamber president on the state-of-the-art complex, which facilitates general cargo, bulk and break-bulk operations...

The fund is Compete Caribbean’s mechanism to support firms that want to innovate, create new products and export to new markets. Nassau, Bahamas - The Bahamas Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Arawak Cay Development (APD) will host an information session and luncheon about the new port at Arawak Cay. This event, scheduled for Wednesday, August 10, 12:30pm, at the Sheraton Cable Beach Convention Centre, will feature presentations by APD’s all-Bahamian executive team.

Michael Maura Jr, CEO; Dion Bethell, CFO; and Rudy Levarity, Facility and Operations Manager, will reveal details of the operation, and the historic, bottom-up IPO which will allow the general public to own shares in this landmark initiative.
