RBPF: Significant drug seizure and arrest by officers of Grand Bahama and Bimini on Friday 1st September 2017” - Sep 1, 2017 - 4:43:51 PM

Reports are that shortly before 8:00am, officers of the Drug Enforcement Unit and officers of the Bimini District in a joint operation, intercepted a 26 ft. aqua and white “contender” vessel in waters north of Alice Town, Bimini. Officers boarded the vessel and arrested two males on board and discovered two white coolers and two backpacks all containing a number of packages of suspected cocaine. The estimated street value of the drugs is 2.3 million dollars.

The suspected cocaine and the two males who are residents of Bimini were taken into police custody and are expected to be arraigned before the Magistrate Court in New Providence early next week...

RBPF Missing person: Police searching for a 14 year old male of Abaco - Aug 28, 2017 - 7:19:01 PM

Police in Abaco are investigating the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of a 14 year old male of Pelican Shores, Abaco.

Reports are that shortly after 11:00pm on Wednesday 23rd August 2017, police received information that the young man left Marsh Harbor, Abaco in a white 15 foot Boston Whaler boat with a 60hp mercury engine heading to Pelican Shores. He has not been seen since.

A massive search effort was initiated by the Royal Bahamas Police Force, the Royal Bahamas Defense Force, the United States Coast Guard...

Abaco Police investigating death of 41 year old male resident of Hope Town - Aug 12, 2017 - 4:05:26 PM

Reports are that shortly before 10:00am, police were called to the Hope Town Light House, where the lifeless body of a male was found unresponsive on the premises. The body was transported to the Marsh Harbor Clinic and pronounced dead by doctor. Foul play is not suspected at this time. An autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death.

RBPF: Major Drug Bust in Andros, Three Men in Custody - Aug 8, 2017 - 11:25:29 PM

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2017, Police have struck a significant blow to the operations of drug traffickers with the seizure of a huge amount of marijuana and the arrest of three men in Andros on Monday 7th August 2017.

According to reports, around 4:30pm, a team of officers from the North Andros Division went to an area in Fresh Creek, where they met a go-fast boat, which appeared to have run aground. The officers conducted a search of the nearby bushes, where they uncovered 78 large packages containing nearly three thousand pounds of marijuana and arrested three adult males...

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of an American adult male Winter Resident from Maryland that occurred in North Eleuthera on Sunday 30th July 2017.

Preliminary reports are that shortly after 9:00am, the man was cutting a large tree at his home in North Eleuthera, when the tree "broke free" and struck him. The man was taken to the island’s local clinic, where he was pronounced dead...

RBPF: 25 Drivers in Exuma ticketed during Police Operation - Jul 22, 2017 - 10:48:35 AM

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2017, officers in Exuma conducted an operation in George Town that targeted motorists who were driving in breach of the rules of the road on Friday 21st July 2017.

The operation led to 25 drivers being cited for various traffic violations...

Police in Abaco are investigating a shooting incident that has left a male hospitalized.

Reports are that on Friday 21st July 2017, shortly after 10:00pm, a male was reportedly leaving his place of employment on Don McKay Drive, Marsh Harbor and while entering his vehicle, he was accosted by an assailant brandishing a handgun, who attempted to rob him and shot him to the upper body...

British citizen arrested for drug possession in Harbour Island - Jul 4, 2017 - 10:09:56 AM

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2017, Police in Harbour Island, Bahamas took a man from London, England into custody following the seizure of a quantity of dangerous drugs found in his possession on Tuesday 4th July 2017.

According to reports, shortly after 1:00am, Officers assigned to the Harbour Island District were on routine patrol on that island, when they saw a man standing near a nightclub who aroused their suspicion. The officers conducted a search of the man and found a quantity of marijuana in his possession. The man was then taken into custody and is expected to appear in court later this week to be formally charged...

Police in Eleuthera probe swimming death off Wemess Bight - Jul 3, 2017 - 2:32:19 PM


Police in Eleuthera, Bahmas are investigating the circumstances surrounding the apparent drowning of a man that occurred on Sunday 2nd July 2017.

Reports are that shortly after 7:00am, a man was swimming in waters on a beach in Wemyss Bight, when he lost consciousness. The victim was taken to shore and transported to the local clinic, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigations are ongoing.

A 23 year old male victim of Murphy Town, Abaco who was hospitalized at the Princess Margaret Hospital succumbed to his injuries on Saturday 17th June 2017.

This is in connection with a shooting incident that occurred in Murphy Town, Abaco on Monday 12th June 2017.

Police are actively investigating this matter and are appealing to the general public for any information that can assist in this investigation...

American visitor drowns in Abaco - Jun 14, 2017 - 1:00:21 AM

Police in Abaco are investigating the death of a 54 year old American visitor on Tuesday 13th June 2017.

Reports are that shortly after 1:00am, the body of a male was discovered in water near a residence in Eastern Shores, Marsh Harbor, Abaco. Foul play is not suspected in this matter, however an autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death.

Acklins Bahamas stabbing death suspect in custody - Jun 4, 2017 - 3:12:49 PM

A man is in custody following an overnight stabbing on Acklins Island that has left a man dead.

According to reports, around 8:30pm on Saturday 3rd June 2017, two men were involved in an altercation at Masons Bay, that led to one of them being hit with a bottle and the other stabbed with an object. The two men were transported to the local clinic where they were treated by the islands doctor and later released.

RBPF: Firearms and Ammunition Arrest in Abaco - Jun 3, 2017 - 2:44:26 PM

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Plan for 2017, Police in Abaco arrest three males in two separate incidents for possession of illegal firearms and ammunition on Saturday 3rd June 2017.

In the first incident shortly after 2:00am, officers while at a business establishment on Don McKay Blvd, took a male into police custody after he was found in possession of a 9mm pistol with (2) rounds of 9mm ammunition.

In the second incident a short time later, officers also arrested two males in the area of the Government Complex on Don McKay Blvd, after they were stopped in a white truck and recovered a .40 pistol with (8) .40 rounds of ammunition...

Police in Bimini arrest a male after he was found in possession of an illegal firearm and ammunition on Friday 2nd June 2017.

Reports are that shortly after 1:00am, officers while on routine patrol on Kings Highway arrested a male after they discovered on him a .22 Smith and Wesson pistol with (11) rounds of ammunition. The male a 25 year old of Bailey Town, Bimini was taken into police custody and is expected to be arraigned before the Magistrate Court next week...

Two Eleuthera men arrested for possession of marijuana plants - May 28, 2017 - 9:59:42 PM

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Plan for 2017, Police in Eleuthera took two men into custody following the seizure of a number of marijuana plants on Saturday 27th May 2017.

According to report, shortly before 11:00am, a team of officers assigned to the Eleuthera District acting on intelligence executed a search warrant on a home located in Lower Bogue, where they uncovered 40 plant pots each containing several small marijuana plants. Two males residents of the home were taken into custody in connection with this discovery...

Police in Abaco are investigating the death of a 72 year old male on Saturday 27th May 2017.

Reports are that shortly after 8:00am, police were called to a resident in Treasure Cay, Abaco, where the lifeless body of a Caucasian male was found with a gunshot wound to the body. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the local doctor. Foul play is not suspected in this matter and police are actively investigating...

Andros, Bahamas - Consistent with the Commissioner’s Police Plan for 2017, a team of courageous officers assigned to the South Andros District struck big blow in the operations of drug traffickers in the Bahamas on Thursday 18th May 2017, this time with the seizure of a large quantity of marijuana and the arrest of two suspects on that island.

Reports are that around 6:00am, a team of officers from the South Andros District, acting on intelligence went to a bushy area in Mars Bay, where they uncovered just over one thousand pounds of marijuana packaged in 44 nylon sacks, 19 small bags and a suit case...

Haitian Migrants Detained in South Eleuthera - May 14, 2017 - 10:11:55 AM

According to reports, shortly after 3:00am on Saturday 13th May 2017, police received receive a report that several Haitians migrants landed in a sloop off Cape South Eleuthera. Responding officers arrived on the scene and were able to detain about 50 Haitian Nationals. The officers on checking the immediate area found the lifeless body of a male on the shoreline suspected to be part of the group of migrants.

The migrants have all been handed over to immigration officials. Investigations are ongoing.

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Plan for 2017, officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) struck another blow against organized drug trafficking in The Bahamas, this time with the seizure of a large amount of marijuana and the arrest of two persons in the Exuma Cays on Thursday 11th May 2017.

According to reports, around 2:00pm, a team of officers assigned to the Drug Enforcement Unit assisted by officers from the Police Marine Support Services Branch acting on intelligence conducted a search of an area on Big Galliot Cay in the Exuma Chains, where they uncovered nine crocus bags containing 120 pounds of marijuana...

Reports are that on Friday 28th April 2017, shortly after 9:00pm, police were called to a local resort where they conducted a search of a male and his vessel and discovered a black .380 pistol with (1) magazine containing (6) live rounds of ammunition in a holster and also (1) 9mm pistol with (17) rounds of ammunition and (2) magazines...
