sm_6.jpg
Spring is here and with it comes a slew of trends to keep your fashion binging in full swing. One of the major trends this season is bohemian glamour. More of a perennial fashion favorite and lifestyle than a trend, bohemian styles are inherently innocent and carefree and always gain momentum when the weather warms up and the desire for more relaxed clothing increases.

Ethnic prints such as ikat, lightweight tunics, wide leg trousers and rich gold jewelry are just some of the hallmark elements that can be combined to pull off a stellar bohemian chic look...

SMALL-donna-morgan-dresses.jpg
It’s just April and it’s almost impossible to beat the heat. If the thought of reaching for your business suit makes you break out in a sweat, then read on. You don’t have to don a blouse and skirt suit to fall in line with your office’s corporate dress code. Whether a classic dress or great separates, staying cool and corporate is a simple task when you work with colours and fabrics designed to beat the heat.

Jersey Dresses - One of the best features of a great cotton jersey dress is little-to-no ironing. This fabric is not the lightest, but given it’s stretch capability and level of comfort it’s great for summer wear with the right silhouette. A straight shift dress or a wrap dress...

Style Guide: Inverted Triangle Body Shape - Mar 23, 2011 - 11:17:08 PM

TN-Inverted-triangle-look-SM.jpg
I was doing some personal shopping for a client this weekend who was looking for a few new dresses for the spring season. After three kids, her body had changed dramatically and her smaller bust and fuller hips had given way to a broader upper body and narrower hips and thighs.

She was shocked to learn that her body type had a name - the inverted triangle shape. You have this shape if you are top heavy in appearance, with broad shoulders and a medium to fuller bust. You also tend to be narrower at the waist and your hips, thighs and lower legs are smaller than your upper torso...

Denim Revolution - Mar 2, 2011 - 2:22:28 PM

Derek-ANIM.gif
Chances are you can’t live without them. They are undoubtedly one of the most worn articles of clothing in your closet. Funny enough, they seem to get better the more you wear them, molding to your body, becoming softer and more comfortable. Ode to your favorite pair of denim jeans. This spring, it’s cool to wear denim from head to toe. Fall in love with a new style of jeans and start peppering some other fun denim pieces into your wardrobe.

The Return of the Wide Leg : Seventies inspired high-rise flared jeans are in for spring. Squeezing into my skinny jeans had become a bit of an ordeal, having popped more than one belt loop by using them as leverage to get those painted-on jeans on...

All That Glitters

Sequin frocks ruled the red carpet at the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards. Kim Kardashian, Heidi Klum and LeAnn Rimes donned liquid gold gowns, modern takes on the flashy gold numbers worn by soul singers in the 70’s.
